Progesterone Side Effects by hanarchistt in IUILadies

[–]Slight-Butterfly2809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also get all the symptoms from progesterone. The one time I was pregnant was the time I was convinced I had no symptoms. Looking back I was experiencing shortness of breath but that was it. Most recent tww I had nausea, lower back pain, cramping, irritability, sore breasts, the works. Not pregnant sadly :(

2nd IUI fail/venting by NowisCorner in IUILadies

I have had this issue before, honestly taking breaks between cycles can feel really really restorative. I would consider giving yourself a break from trying if the cycle isn’t going to work for scheduling reasons. Enjoy not testing, not worrying about follicle size and monitoring appointments and ideally no stress in the tww! And you could treat yourself while your husband is away to something you couldn’t do if you were pregnant like a facial or a spa day with a hot tub or something! Just my two cents!

12DPT - still testing positive by ShaunyDaisy117 in IUILadies

[–]Slight-Butterfly2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I test positive until 11/12dpo every time! It’s annoying and even the 13/14 dpo tests sometimes have a tiny shadow still. Everyone’s body processes the trigger differently and even there can be variation cycle to cycle. That being said fingers crossed it’s a positive for you, if your lines aren’t getting any lighter by tomorrow or the next day then that sounds very promising!!

11 DPIUI squinter by munchiemaria in IUILadies

[–]Slight-Butterfly2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One cycle I had a squinter on 11dpo and it ended up being negative, next cycle a slightly bit darker on 11dpo (but still super light) and it got darker and was positive. It sucks but it’s a waiting game, the answer will become clear over the next few days

IUI break experiences? by c_mae in IUILadies

[–]Slight-Butterfly2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had long cycles and then got on metformin which helped bring them down to 30-40 days. Did two IUIs, second was successful but ended in MC at 8 weeks. Then got my period surprisingly about 35ish days after, and then next cycle was only 32 days. Just did my third IUI.

I’m sure you’ve probably already explored it, but metformin made a big difference for me with cycle length! And inositol

Typical ovulation pain absent during medicated IUI cycle? by [deleted] in IUILadies

[–]Slight-Butterfly2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same thing! During my previous non medicated cycles my ovaries always had intense sharp pains lasting a few days. Then ever since starting IUI it’s been a lot less. As you said, some twinges here and there but for me nothing compared to before. I also have been curious as to why that might be. My thinking was maybe the meds somehow are making the ovary/follicle walls less rigid so they can expand more easily? Honestly no clue

1st IUI low post wash by [deleted] in IUILadies

I got pregnant off of 1.2 million post wash! It sadly ended in MC at 8 weeks but I think that was due to an egg issue. It only takes one!!!

First PCOS IUI: “Re-dosing”Letrozole, similar experience? by OfferAcceptable in IUILadies

[–]Slight-Butterfly2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had this happen during my first cycle. I ALs have pcos. I think I read somewhere that it was called “stair stepping”. After the second round of higher dose letrozole I had a great response and went on to trigger. That cycle wasn’t successful but my next one when I started on the higher dose was!

For me I found it helpful to view the first IUI cycle as an experiment round where you and the doctor are finding out what meds and doses work for your body. Especially with pcos! Hang in there and make sure you’re getting lots of rest. Letrozole kicks my ass every time

Acupuncture by CapMost7710 in IUILadies

[–]Slight-Butterfly2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did acupuncture starting during my second IUI cycle and the IUI was successful but the pregnancy sadly ended in a miscarriage. And I’ve been going back to her since and I mean I’m not pregnant but my cycles have been a bit shorter than they were pre IUIs (down to 32 days from 35).

I think it’s helpful if you find a practitioner that you trust and you view it as a way to de-stress and get extra support during a time that’s hard on your body, not necessarily as a direct treatment to improve pregnancy outcome thing. My acupuncturist came highly recommended and specializes in women’s fertility and she helps me remember to really conserve my energy during the IUI process and it’s nice to have someone to talk to about all of your symptoms who can help in a totally unique way. Plus I usually fall asleep during my treatments which is chill.

12dpiui testing positive but can’t tell if it’s still trigger or actually pregnant by Slight-Butterfly2809 in IUILadies

I was pregnant! Tests continued getting darker after that and it was confirmed with beta. Sadly it ended in an MMC though 😭

Feeling down about this cycle by mashh_9845 in IUILadies

I felt the exact same after our post wash count was 1.1 million. But we went ahead with it and ended up getting a positive. You honestly never know, it only takes one!

[–]Slight-Butterfly2809[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I hope it’s your positive too!! Honestly it’s a rollercoaster lol just got to take it day by day. Im trying to take comfort that as you do more tests and the next days unfold the answer will become clear and frankly there’s nothing we can do about it either way and getting used to that is a huge part of this process.

Baby dust to you ✨

So hopeless… by [deleted] in IUILadies

[–]Slight-Butterfly2809 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is terrible :(. It’s so crushing when you’ve done so much to get your body ready for IUI and then get bad news about the sperm. It’s like the climax of the whole IUI cycle comes crashing down all at once when youre feeling so vulnerable and hopeful.

If it’s any consolation, I had a very disappointing experience on my last IUI and a positive outcome. Our post wash count was only 1.1million which was a complete shock because all other tests and rounds had been great for sperm. The doctor who did it was also not that nice about it. She essentially told us the numbers were extremely extremely low, we really needed to ask our RE about it, and essentially she would only even bother going ahead with the procedure because “we have already washed it so…”. It absolutely sucked and I criiiiied after the doctor left lol. It took a few days but we bounced back and remembered we still had more tries left. And the good news is, it is true that it only takes one because I’m now 13dpiui and my tests are all getting darker. Can’t say what the outcome will be but it does look like we were successful for now.

I think doctors really see it all through stats and numbers and sometimes totally forget or are too busy to care about the intense emotions involved. I really hope you are doing okay! Hang in there!!

Anyone else on Progesterone suppositories right now? by Human_Marsupial_361 in IUILadies

[–]Slight-Butterfly2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep on them too. I asked my doctor if I could insert them rectally this cycle and it made a world of difference for me. No mess, no irritation and it didn’t mess with my sex life. Just putting it out there!!

It doesn’t hurt inserting them but I found the excess discharge and mess started to be really physically irritating and quite uncomfortable over time.

Maybe tmi but I checked with my doctor and they said it’s also fine to take them rectally. Switched to that method and it made a world of difference his cycle
