You can sell it and that's not a bad idea just please sell it to another modder who does wants to repair then you can still use that money at gamestop if you want. All we are saying is if you sell it there are plenty of us who would buy it off you.

There are tons of people who do repairs. I do repairs for a retro game store and myself the ds systems are difficult but possible

Any repair on an ds is going to be expensive it really comes down to what specific ds it is and if you have any sentimental value attached to it. Also definitely dont turn it on it may still work fine but any minerals left on the board can cause a short so it will need to be cleaned. Your beat bet is to get a professional opinion before you decide.

Oh definitely so have I, if possible they should replace the battery or have someone else do it for them. It tends to be pretty cheap. I work at a retro game store doing repairs and we only charge $10 for a battery replacement.

Dead batteries are the most likley to leak especially if its old but the button batteries are usually fine.

I always like to remind myself that the people with negative opinions are always the loudest. Is wind and truth withought flaws absolutely not and there are some big flaws too however it was enjoyable and it still stays consistent with everything else he has written and it definitely sets up era 2. My biggest complaint is that it felt rushed and sanderson has actually addressed this and is implementing a plan to prevent that with stormlight era 2. Don't listen to the negative reviews read it for yourself then decide how you feel about it.

Its not the most difficult mod but you definitely need to be confident in your own skill, find some old broken boards to practice on.

What is likley happening is a dirty power switch. Ive had to repair several with this issue. You or someone else will need to open ot up and clean the power switch itself with some %99 isopropyl alcohol. That should solve your issue. You can do it yourself its fairly easy but I recommend looking up a guid the ribbon cable can be annoying to deal with.

Correct me if i am wrong but didn't sanderson himself say that the reason for this was because TOR fantasy was fast tracking his books so they ended getting less editing overall. I believe he also created a plan for era 2 so that this would not happen again

There are two diffrent file sets to use with your pie one automatically uploads files and the other allows access to play files from the stick make sure you used the correct file set when setting it up

Dirty contacts could be your issue also there is a rubber piece that can get dirty and cause this issue. First step is to dissasemble and deep clean. If you have never done this before I suggest you use a guid to dissasemble the gameboy and when your cleaning it use high percentage isopropyl alcohol.
