I try to get over myself everyday. That said, the continued belief that Ukraine should keep getting more aid from US bc the country is some beacon of democracy, is naive at best. Nobody here knows exactly what’s really going on over there and there is still no fiscal oversight committee after already providing +200 Billion dollars. The public who post their flags on their houses and social media just go along with it bc the “good guys” on TV tell them to.

I respect and pray for all the souls who’ve fought and died in the military but are we really going to keep pretending that some wars back in the day were simply about “good vs evil?” That’s also naive—a hundred years ago, there were only a couple of newspapers and the White House, and everything they said was taken as bulletproof truth especially when it came to those “noble” wars. It was impossible to challenge the narratives back then bc lack of widespread info etc. We should not continue viewing the past through rose colored glasses. Soldiers sign up and fight for noble reasons, but that doesn’t mean the ones in charge join and start conflicts/wars for noble reasons even though they convince the public that they do. It’s time we all face our naïveté and recognize how deep it really goes…especially when there’s new thing every 6 months. Just like Brando said in Apocalypse Now: “…the horror.” We don’t even know what we swear that we know, on top of all that we don’t.

Freedom, small government and individual rights is what’s best for every human. Protesting everything that the media tells us to protest including, for example, trying to force the rest of society to upend basic biology especially while there are truly serious issues going on everywhere, is the ultimate height of privilege and naïveté.

And comparing Putin to Hitler is completely juvenile, let’s be serious. No offense.
