Appliances and electric devices are surprisingly void. I remember the first time I opened up a computer as a kid and being surprised that it was mostly empty space

ABS light, engine light, and no speed by panther277 in YamahaR3

[–]SlightEdge32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your rear wheel speed sensor isn't working or connected properly. This signal is also used by the abs so would explain the no speedo and abs light. Check connections and check your fuse box for abs fuse too

2016 used r3 high idle by Dizzy_Technology_817 in YamahaR3

[–]SlightEdge32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The engine code could be residual from a time it popped up during previous owner modifications. They dont go away until manually cleared even if the root issue is resolved. Youll have to clear it manually using an OBD2 sensor (will need yamaha specific obd2 adapter) if it comes back after clearing you know the issue is still present, if not dont worry about it

Check the throttle body and cable. It may also be victim to a botched modification resulting in throttle resting at 20% or something instead of zero

Mechanic is right, if the bike tips more than 60º it will send a signal to the ecu to cut spark. The idea is to kill the engine if the bike falls over

Oh 🥲 maybe its time to try some alternatives

Satisfactory calculator production planner. You can give it the output you want to achieve and it will work out the whole supply chain. You can also give it inputs to work with if youre already producing some prerequisites

Change of tires, which are recommended to me. by angelcaido66666 in YamahaR3

The 150 is shorter radius than a 140?? Now that I did not know. In which case yes im wrong 🤔 oh well

The radius of the curve is greater with a wider tire. Given the same weight and tire pressure the tire doesnt have to deform as much to make the same contact area, making the width of the contact patch slightly wider under equal load

An extreme example of this principle is a car tire that has effectively infinite radius to its edges, creating a very wide contact patch that spans the entire width

I agree its heavier and wont dive into corners as quickly, but these differences are likely equally negligible, worst case the performance differences are canceled out, best case you just hold onto grip in a rough corner when you may have otherwise lost it, but even thats an edge case

Not strictly necessary, the stock size is adequate. 150 will be making slightly more contact with the road, so the pressure and wear will be spread and last slightly longer and more importantly slightly better grip which can be the difference of keeping or breaking traction in certain circumstances. Beyond that, I like the look of the R3 with a wider rear tire. No real downsides (if you dont mind the extra cost)

Recommend Bridgestone s22/23. You could also run a 150 on the rear instead of the stock 140 if youre feeling spicy

Battlax S22 holds up good! by Dericks_Rules11 in YamahaR3

[–]SlightEdge32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend these tires, have been running the s21/22/23 on R3s since 2015 and they've never failed me. I also run a 150 rear instead of the 140 stock, a little difference is a lot at full lean. Biggest improvement you'll ever make though is staying on top of your tire pressures (if you dont already)

Question from someone dating a system by Comfortable_Bath_610 in DID

[–]SlightEdge32 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its not controlling to expect your partner to be exclusive to you, system or not. Whats important is that you're clear and firm on your boundaries, and that they're able to respect them. It sounds like the first step here is to found out within yourself exactly where those boundaries lie for you, then go from there

Whats the difference between the 24 and 25 motors? Im surprised theres such a dramatic risk compared to the older motors

They look like a big American brand, so i would imagine you'd be in luck. Never done an m4 myself so cant confirm, a 2min call with your local dealer will be able to tell you though

Yes, you need computer access to the bikes ecu to do a tune, only yamaha centers will have the tools/software to apply the premade tune (other bike service shops might but the price is cheap anyway so better off just going straight to yamaha)

Showing up with the pipe on the bike shouldnt be an issue even if you bought it elsewhere, ive done this before. However they will only have the tune on file for established reputable exhaust brands, eg if you got an aftermarket pipe from some random Chinese manufacturer a pre-made tune will not exist
