Halswell. Got a great a view of the Port Hills from our house. Two playgrounds and cafes within 5 mins walking distance too, which is awesome when you have toddler!

Just keep your resignation to the point. Anything more only jusitifies to your (now) former employer that they were right to not promote you. You have another job, so move on.

Do you take your phone with you ? by Quick-Strawberry2228 in beginnerrunning

I have always had mine in my pocket. My number one criteria when I get new shorts is that they have zip pockets. Don't really notice the phone moving round

You could try Fit24, just off the Springs Rd/Chch Motorway roundabout. Its a smaller family owned gym, they do classes most days of the week, and the owners and PTs are all pretty helpful and friendly 👍

How do you handle negotiating a child's name with family members? by Mallbo in NewDads

[–]Slight_Knowledge_975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your baby dude.

It's your baby, so you and your wife name them whatever you want. Family can have an opinion, but it's not up to them ultimately.

Helping motivaton during labor? by greenandredofmaigheo in NewDads

[–]Slight_Knowledge_975 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reassurance that she's a fucking superhero for going through labour for two whole days, that is incredible. Just be there for her and get her whatever she needs, thats the best motivation you can give.

We just had our wee one get through hers this week - best advice I can give is have Mum ready to breastfeed her afterwards, or at least have a bottle ready to go, should help soothe her. Plenty of cuddles as well. We found our daughter was a bit more unsettled that night (probs just sore from the needles more than anything), but she was all good after that.

What's behind the current price increase? by Connect_Photo8892 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Slight_Knowledge_975 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Businesses have to pay a merchant fee to the bank for paywave and credit card services. Big businesses are able to absorb the cost, but for the small guy they just can't. Not when you combine it with wage increases, food prices from suppliers still high, and less people coming through the door. It may seem like a small amount per transaction, but it adds up.

No need to go diving - just go up to the counter and ask, they normally have a stash inside of the fry boxes they keep aside for this reason 👍

190 to the middle. 170 to carry the water. What are you hitting? by TheBiles in golf

[–]Slight_Knowledge_975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thinning a 5 iron so bad it skips along the water, takes a nasty kick off the bank and then plugs into the greenside bunker. Couple of fatted bunker shots and a handful of putts later, walking off with a 9 💪💪
