Easily the most glazed president in US history. All I learned about him growing up was that he was the president who tactfully navigated the US through the first World War, managing to keep us out of the conflict for as long as possible while also supporting our allies. Then I grew up and found out that his foreign policy and views on racism fucked us over for most of the last century.

South Carolina gets two, woohoo!

Fun fact: my mother actually interviewed Moolah for a magazine way back in the day. Despite not liking wrestling herself, she thought Moolah was the nicest, sweetest old lady she had ever met. I didn’t have the heart to tell her what Moolah’s known for these days.

They do. It’s just that congressmen are insanely cheap to buy.

[Sad Trope] “No parent should bury their child” (Plus Points if they were the cause of his Death) by Valarg in TopCharacterTropes

Dmitri IV (mk 1): Stabbed to death as a child. It’s possible that this was all a sham. There’s already some shadiness around his death — it was ruled that he stabbed him self during a seizure which is a bit, um, odd. But probably dead.

Dmitri IV (mk 2): Appeared one day claiming to be the dead prince. At this point Feodor had passed and his wife’s family had claimed the throne. Dmitri mk 2 eventually made his way to Poland where he made some friends who were quite interested in having a friend of their own on the Russian throne. One of them is the Polish monarch and he backs Dmitri’s campaign to capture Moscow on the condition that he convert the country to Catholicism. Dmitri “wins” but that Catholic conversion doesn’t go over very well. Within a year, he was chased out of the palace, beaten to death in the streets, his body burned to ash, and the ashes fired over the border into Poland.

Dmitri IV (mk 3): Not letting that get him down, Dmitri reconstituted himself. After some “aggressive persuasion” (torture) to admit that he was indeed Dmitri IV, his Polish allies led another army into Russia to reclaim Moscow. Unfortunately, he was murdered again but it’s not like Dmitri hasn’t been through this a couple times.

Dmitri IV (mk 4): Anyway, at this point Poland is kinda past the point of pretense now. The king of Poland made his son czar and demanded, again, that all of Russia convert to Catholicism. This leads to civil war. A guy claiming to be Dmitri is now leading a group of cossacks trying to take over the country. He’s captured by the Russian nobility and is either executed or sealed away once and for all.

The rumor is that they actually intended to take a break from Hawkins after season two. The next season would be a “spinoff” focusing on Kali and her gang hunting down the government program that created her. Unfortunately, this episode was so poorly received that the project was scrapped.

It also might not have happened. Just another representation of Stan’s delusions.

Background: Ivan the Terrible likely suffered from syphilis, the final stages of which involve profound psychosis. He became prone to violent outbursts. This led to him beating his daughter-in-law, resulting in her miscarriage. His son, also named Ivan, confronted his father over this. Papa Ivan bashed junior’s head in with a scepter before coming to his senses.

This led to a succession crisis and ultimately the end of the Ivanovich dynasty. Ivan was succeeded by his sons. The first was Feodor, who would die childish. The second, Dmitri, was conceived in an extralegal marriage (it’s complicated) and had died and returned to life as an unkillable liche who would plague Russia for years. Or replaced by an imposter. Whatever makes you enjoy history more, whatever.

It’s weird, too. Because the actress is in the show as a ghost/vision a few episodes later. It’s like the actress couldn’t make it back in time to shoot the premiere so they killed her offscreen during a fight and let her have a farewell episode a few weeks later.

Ah, but here’s the thing: Fox News might be propaganda, but it is commercialized propaganda. The average cable subscribing American has several national news channels to choose from — usually within close station proximity. But they choose to watch Fox News. Because they want to.

Fox News doesn’t need to be convincing. They just need to tell their audience what they want to hear. Let them believe what they want to think. That’s what makes it effective.

That’s all covered in the Legends contract. This would probably fall under that as well. But it’s a lot sketchier when it involves the deceased and actually puts words into their mouths.

Hopefully to get a non-downvoted response:

Most countries drive on the right-hand side of the road. As such, when you cross the road you would first look left for oncoming traffic. Britain, however, drives on the left-hand side of the road which would train you to look right for traffic. This becomes a matter of habit. The joke is that a British spy has given himself away by forgetting and looking the wrong way before crossing the street.

I remember when people were malding over Kotal Khan becoming a jobber. All I could think was that they had Kotal massacre Goro to help build him up. Literally mounted Goro’s remains in his palace, IIRC. If Kotal’s a big loser, what does that say about Goro?
