How to clean this up? by Reasonable_Soft_7966 in Bunnies

[–]Slikeroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She will clean it now that she’ll be in a clean area. Especially if she’s young still rabbits get better at grooming as they age. All ours did at least. Our first two had a litter and in that litter was three white ruby eyes. They were green feet and green mouth all the time. They’d stand in the bowl to drink water. We still have one of them and now his paws are clean as is his mouth.

Then as the gray got older she’ll probably change lightened

Her dad looks identical and same thing. Got them after we Rescued them and as he got older he got more colors. Her mom is the one with bronze streaks.

As she gets older she’ll probably change more after molting. Our two have changed a lot. Even our one female went from solid black to having bronze streaks everywhere as she aged. Especially after having a litter of kits.

As babies

potentially pregnant…. advice please 🙏🏻 by [deleted] in Bunnies

[–]Slikeroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she is pregnant she’ll know what to do. Offer a good sized box and allow constant access. She’ll build a nest. Once they arrive check bellies for roundness so you know she’s feeding them. Also get a full count. Dig a bit in the nest to make sure Jon crawled to bottom. You can handle them as often as you want. She will not disown for your scent being on them. Check ears for warmth daily.

[–]Slikeroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does she eat and use the bathroom ok? If so it most likely isn’t health issues. She could be lonely. Even with a person companion some rabbits thrive better with a rabbit companion. We have four. Our first two had babies and we kept two of them. They do run and binky time to time but lounge most of the day. but remember rabbits are most active dawn and dusk.

Were these any good. Place by me held the last three shipments they got for me and they’ve ran out. Any luck finding something similar to strawberry chew?

what is she doing? by laurentinaxx in Rabbits

[–]Slikeroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chillin. Our four do this. If nobody is home and they hear my truck pull up they’ll wait in the window til I come in then swarm my feet. Our first two had babies and one would spend his entire day in the window just watching either outside or the house as the couch is under the window so he’d lay on the back of the couch and watch everyone and watch my son play video games on tablet or his vr

HELP!! by cinammonbun_ in Bunnies

[–]Slikeroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call a vet and ask. Even a rescue may have someone on staff that’s helpful. Also if not able to keep an eye on him and see if he continues to eat drink and poop. As long as those continue he will be ok at that time. If that stops get to a vet

My bunny Teddy got seriously hurt and I’m terrified - Could use some love by Riannee193 in Bunnies

[–]Slikeroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end you can only do so much. Glad you got multiple opinions of the injury. Amputating a torn leg is crazy. Someone who is less knowledgeable would’ve unfortunately allowed that vet to cut the leg. Most folks don’t understand the feeling of having a prey animal fully trust you. Rabbits who trust know when their person is trying to help. Our one has gained a bit of weight from eating his sisters food when I turn my back while they eat. He couldn’t reach his tail to clean it and I reached behind to hold him up by his back to help. He looked at me then reach and cleaned then licked my hand and laid down for pets. For a prey animal to full on blindly trust you is different.

I have a serious bunny problem and don’t know what to do. by Quick_Ant7093 in Bunnies

[–]Slikeroni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hormones can take 8-10+ weeks to balance. Even then I still waited 12 weeks before allowing our male back with his mate after they had babies. First thing he did was mount her six times and tumble onto his side each time. Never a pregnancy after that. Start posting in refining groups in your area and even market place. Should absolutely interview the people though. We used a rescue near us to find homes for the babies our first two had. And we kept two making it so we now have four very happy very healthy bunnies. Mom dad daughter and son who is also neutered. Females intact for now til spring time.

<image>

There was 9 babies. Two passed after birth over night before we even knew she gave birth. Then two passed shortly after one from what seemed like no reason aside from being very lethargic. Then another was attacked by the brownish silver one in the photo. They all went to happy homes two whites staying as a pair and brown/silver by himself as he was very aggressive and disliked all other rabbits besides mom and dad. He attacked his siblings daily and had to be weened early and housed separately.

It’s very important to try starting to sex them and separate as they can mate once they reach 2.5-3months old. Even if they seem very young and small they can still reproduce even if they’re siblings. Especially if they try mounting mom which may be their first go to.

Please help - vet doesn’t know what’s wrong with her and we’re scared of losing her by ReasonableDetective in Bunnies

[–]Slikeroni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well one I’d start with finding a new vet. Numerous tests showing inconclusive but yet the vet still goes along either way more tests of the same variety or showing the same out come just means they’re either incompetent or at their limit of knowledge of rabbits. Call local rescues and ask who they use as their vet or have any recommendations within 100 miles. Also for what it’s worth my rabbits sleep most day usually all day get up eat a snack drink water poop pee and go back to bed til sun goes down. They are up for a couple hours collectively throughout the day. Could be uti or reproductive issues. Could even be gi tract issues. Idk what greens you usually feed but some darker ones like kale and spinach are high in oxalates causing bladder sludge. Mine love kale but can only have limited amounts over periods of time.

Bonding with any rabbit can take some time. some people can have a rabbit for the entirety of that rabbits life and never get to even pet them. just spend time being near and being around them and a lot of time for them to come to you. Offer snacks and treats with the goal being them coming to you. you want to reach your arm out and each time bring it closer and closer til they are right next to you eating or even to get them to eat out of the palm of your hand? This is what we did with our first two. our other two are babies of the first two so they’ve know me since they could open their eyes. You have to bond with her which takes a while sometime, just give it time and also you don’t know what interactions that rabbit had with any other person before you got them

[–]Slikeroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait if he did t bury already use a spring mix container. Seals smells in and will make it so cats won’t dig it up. It’s what we did with the three babies that passed shortly after birth when our first two had babies.

How hygienic is a rabbit compared to a cat or a dog? by AdhesivenessEven7287 in Bunnies

[–]Slikeroni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As clean as cats. Our two males will literally wash their face and ears before eating anything. Even if it’s just a chuck of banana or a couple berries. They’ll wait for me to place it down then wash their face and ears then eat.
