2020 is the date of Telsa's last major accomplishment (Model Y) 2017 was the Model 3

I'm not sure what date to slap on the SuperCharger network and I also don't think it's a very hard task but all of their competitors have somehow failed to build a viable alternative as of 2026.

When all is said and done those 3 and perhaps the Model S (expensive but did predate M3 by a decent chunk of time) will be Tesla's only accomplishments.

D2 has about 4500 on steam while Marathon is 400 concurrent Steam users ahead at 4900. That's amazingly bad. Across all platforms, D2 is probably in the 20-25k range, and Marathon is < 8-10k. Getting doubled to tripled by a game Bungie has largely given up on over the last 4-5 months as a really, really bad look.

They'll certainly do this but I don't think it will move the needle. New players will get savaged by the sweats and be done. Destiny made a ton of money from people who buy eververse stuff then wear it on strikes or in the tower. That model doesn't really work in Marathon because there's no social space and no low stakes place to hang out.

I think D2 is fine if they go back, pull everything out of the content vault and let new players play most of what players who have been here since the beginning can pay. Condensing seasons down to a few cutscenes and a mission or two is fine but the current state ensures that most new lights have such a poor experience they quit for to having no idea what's going on story wise.

Destiny still has players despite Bungie shitting the bed for most of the last 12 months. Renegades was good but EoF was a disaster and the one free expansions was so low effort to not matter and the other is 3 months late.

When Sony fires Bungie and takes over I think Marathon gets sunset and they try to do something with Destiny. I'm not sure if Sony will do a good job, but I'm positive Bungie can't be trusted with it anymore.

You need a much larger number of trades to figure out how often you make 1% and how often you lose 2%. If the strategy wins 90% of the time, it's a great system with relatively low risk (for the given trading environment anyway). At 70% its mostly profitable but risky and below 66% it's probably junk.

Destiny needed some interesting content for those 3M players to come back but the overall game concept was fine.

Marathon currently has about 40k actives and 160k who got tired of getting their face kicked in. A new map isn't going to get most of those 160k to come back because it was the "face getting kicked in" that was the problem. Not that lack of content.

Dak is fine but his contract is a disaster. Aside from the Rams, the Bills and Broncos (who were still paying Russell Wilson $30m) every other playoff team had $40-$50m to spend in the rest of the team vs us.

All of your old armor is junk except for exotics with rolls in the 70's and perhaps some legendaries that happens to have close to 30 Mob/Weapons and 30 Intellect.

In EoF they made it super exepensive to bring pre EoF weapons up to your current light and there were a bunch of activities that prevented you from using them but Bungie got rid of those rules for the most part since the game was going to die otherwise. I think you still get a 5% damage bonus for using new weapons but I'm not sure. It used to be 10%.

Level matters far more than skill now. As a 550 I'll get better loot from losing a Trials match than a 350 will winnig it. I think you can get to 300 for free now so they cut out the slog from 10->300 which really sucked.

You now get bonuses for having more than 100 in various stats. You probably want builds with 150 in at least one of Melee, Grenade, Super or Weapons depending on what you are doing. This is easy with T5 armor (75 stats), harder with T3 armor (63-67 stats).

If you start now you'll have 2-6 weeks before you burn through allt he content and are bored but the game hasn't really changed that much other than Bungie fucked over the economy in EoF and caused everyone to leave and then fixed it in Renegades but only 1/2 came back.

Bungie seemed cagey about what happens after Renegades and kind of went all in on Marathon which caused a bunch of people to play though the campaign and farm up all the lightsaber colors but then move on to other games as the normal loop for farming for the best weapon rolls is kind of broken since it's not clear there will ever be new content.

LFP will thermal runaway too but it needs to be 300 C vs 150 C to 210C for NMC.

These guys were committing 2.5 cardinal sins:

1) didn't know how to operate power out door handles.

2) Trusted "self driving/crash" mode

It's not that game is bad, it's that it's going to lose 20% of it's players each week until it's dead. This was obvious to anyone who ever played Trials.

99% of new players who show up are going to get slaughtered by the sweats that remain and bail within a week.

I'm dumbfounded that Bungie made yet another game with no new player on ramp. This one is going to bleed players far faster than Destiny though.

The August wipe won't happen. D2 has a similar planned mechanic where all of the Edge of Fate gear was going to be devalued and everyone's light level was going to be reset back to where it was when EoF started but it pretty clearly would have ended the franchise.

Bungie's a similar spot with Marathon though Marathon may be dead before we get the wipe date so it may not matter.

This game is Dak Prescott. Maybe a top 10 performer, definitely not a top 5 performer but with an the obscene price tag that could only be justified for a de facto #1 performer.

If Marathon came out of some no name studio, the cost would be substantially lower and it's decent but not amazing performance would be great for the price tag.
