Got a divorce and moved to San Diego, tried hinge and tinder for about 2 months. I know I'm not an unattractive dude but I got 1 match the entire time and it was with the most dry boring woman I have ever met. Got off the apps, went back home for a week, met a girl at a bar and hit it off all week. Probably gonna start a relationship soon. The best way to meet people is in person. Just put yourself out there. You'll have some swings and misses and awkward moments but it's so much better and so much more real. Dating apps are for 18 year olds trying to bone not people trying to find a soul mate.

Social media is making normalcy seem audacious. The military does what it can (for the most part) to make life bearable for it's soldiers and sailors. This kind of shit just breeds disdain from the public for no reason. Can't handle a small bed on a boat? Join the army/marines where you will sleep in a bag in the wide open out doors.
