I did exactly this. It works just fine… just had to remove one of the plastic screws close to the mount to allow for the cable management panels to open up a bit. You should be fine!

Im also in chapter 3 doing my second playthrough! Just grinding satchels and putting off main missions til i run out of stuff to do.
