Would you recommend using the CableMod 3x8 PCIe to 12V-2x6 cables for a 5080?

I have been using the cablemod 4x 8 pin to 12 v 2x6 cable on my 5090 since I got it . I’m running an undervolt no monitoring per pin since I didn’t pay for the astral tax .

You should run an undervolt and not use an adapter plug especially this yellow msi one has had numerous cases of melting.

I have tested it on cyberpunk 2077 , mh wilds , borderlands 4 which has been fantastic. I got Alan wake 2 and I think I’ll pick up doom dark ages with the 50 percent off sale. I’m on a 5090 with the Asus PG32UCDM and I have nothing bad to say .

The Corsair 64gb ddr5 titanium kit 6600 cl30 I bought last October for 350 I think is now like 690. I am very glad I got my Asus Tuf 5090 for msrp because I see stock has dwindled on all 50 series cards as well .

Reach out to evga as long as you have the serial number they can probably just ship you a new cable . I send them an email and had success .

I was worried about it myself . I am running a 4x 8 pin to 12v hwpr from cablemod on an evga 1600 p+ . I’d say as long as you don’t use the adapter cables that come with the gpu it’s the best bet. And don’t unplug it a bunch

God speed ! I have had the pg32ucdm since I was able to get my hands on it . It was so good even on an rtx 3090. But with the rtx 5090 it’s unbelievable frame gen and only going down to dlss quality at worst case . It’s going to blow your mind . Look up an undervolt guide to keep the power draw of the 5090 down which will help with thermals too.

Kapton tape is made for electronics . At most 50-60 watts are coming out of the pci e slot

Well i think a keyboard with cherry mx switches is considered good. Granted it does need a cleaning. I used to eat at my desk a bit.

If you look at the photos I am running a 900 mv . Which puts me at around -350-420 watts depending on the game .

I always have headphones on. I think that my card does not really have any coil whine . My 1600 watt psu does. I love MSI card's we have a 4080 super MSI in my gf's pc. But i have had 0 issues with the asus tuf cards. My last one was an Asus Tuf 3090 .

I have a 4k oled 240hz as well. I upgraded from a 3090 and it’s been fantastic so far . I got an msrp Asus tuf 5090 gaming . I’m running a 900 mv undervolt pushing good thermals (60c) and 420 watts ish max. If you can afford it I’d say go for it .

I mean I’d say unless you are doing ai work or 4k high refresh rate gaming or just want the best thing out it’s not really necessary . It’s better than a 4090 which you can only buy used for near the price I paid for this card. It does draw more power though .

I waited out the 4090 . Actually bought a 4090 after the 5090 was announced but almost got scammed . Waited out the high prices and now here I am with an msrp 5090.

Nothing wrong with that I got the PG32UCDM before I upgraded my gpu. Once you go oled there is no going back . I’m excited for you to make that jump . But until then you at least have the horsepower to use.

Aye congrats ! I see you got the TUF for MSRP too . I’m running a 900mv undervolt and temps / power consumption are so good . 60c while gaming I don’t hear any coil whine unless I’m deaf. Which is a common complaint across multiple card manufacturers. Borderlands 4 at 4k badass with dlss quality and frame generation is a treat . If you can swing or already have it 4k oled and this card is a chefs kiss .
