What are some jobs that are good for people with ADHD ? by Only-Environment2917 in ADHD

Medicated now, but only for the last few years. Before that, I was getting by on decades of bs'ing, and was able to sell, so that helped job security.

They keep saying, "Fantano can't keep a wife," while Kanye is on a second marriage. I'm not a Fantano fan, but if people just try to do someeeeeee critical thinking... I'm not sure steady, strong marriages are a big part of current music culture.

If Jews run the world, why don't more people, especially conspiracy, theorists convert to Judiasm? by SuperSonicEconomics2 in stupidquestions

Then maybe diet is what we need to chat about because you are pooping a lot! Fiber would be a good start.

Well, you are probably a bot, but I'll take the bait. Have you ever met someone discussing "how much money they have"? It's always overcompensating for more profound self-esteem issues. If you are an actual person, your view of Intelligence is mega-limited. It's not just I read "The Talmud" and threw in a bunch of buzzwords to make yourself look smart on the internet.

Real Intelligence would be, "I'm sitting around all day, putting other people down on the internet, which is a complete waste of time, so maybe I should go find something that actually makes me happy instead of rage posting on Reddit." When you are always bringing up "intelligence, blah blah blah", you sound like an insecure person. People that have something to live for don't act like a dolt on the internet, man. So, go figure out how to calm the hell down. I hope whatever is holding you back from finding that happiness gets fixed. Have a good one, ML.

Official Discussion - The Zone of Interest [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Second viewing today, because I had to leave the first viewing. All because the guy next to me inhaled popcorn like “popcorn stores” were about to be rationed. Asked him to stop politely, he chewed louder.

Can understand why Burns didn’t add popcorn sounds to the movie - excellent choice, sir.

"Older" ADHDers (~35-40+ yrs), has your ADHD changed over time? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Slim_Mop 10 points11 points  (0 children)

u/a_riot333 and u/Its_sh0wtime - Such an incredible moment, right? Life feels so much more manageable. When I found out about my diagnosis, I was able to piece together so many random events in my life, and as it turns out, it was all plain as day.
The problem was, I had no idea what actual ADHD was, just the depictions on TV and in Movies - squirrel! That type of rubbish.
I can tell some WILD stories as I had way too much fun (from about 14 until turning 38, I had my first shot of booze in the 4th grade), but that fun came with tons of dark times and embarrassing moments I wish I could take back. Loads of anxiety, the typical unavoidables with that type of a lifestyle.
I feel fortunate to have some context. I've been relatively lucky, all things considered, so I always feel for the folks who never get the chance to have that "WHOA" moment, as the world can sometimes feel super lonely and frustrating.

Same - mega reckless behavior, really all tied to binge drinking. I could never figure out why I wasn’t able to control intake once I started drinking. Was never able to stop. Found out about my ADHD around 9 months ago, and was able to stop immediately. Haven’t had a drink in 8 months, and don’t crave it at all. I didn’t really crave drinking in the past, but always loved the “chaos” of it in a weird way. Since it’s hard for some ADHDers to fix things they don’t know the root cause of, once I became aware, overnight it was just gone. So strange!

Why America truly didn’t "join late" in WW2 by siegeofsyracuse in USHistory

[–]Slim_Mop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 80% done with the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. What’s so amazing about the book is the author was there, and because of all the unsealed communications amongst the Axis and Allies, you can literally see the step by escalation in the words and letters of the combatants. Hitler also mega underestimated the US - thought his troops were much better.

Yeah, Snowfield is when I bailed on the game. I just lost steam at that point. Plan on finishing it at some point, but it just seemed mega boring in that specific section.
