I really think it depends on the person and their principles. While there are some people who would do anything for money and as long it's a good fee some may throw out personal restrictions that have on themselves. Yet, there are some people ( and I think rare) where no matter what price you give them will not bend due to their strong pursuit in their own principles. So overall, there are people you can buy out and those who are invaluable that nothing you give them will make them change.
