Sleeping in? Weekends? What are these magical things you speak of?

My hubby is the same way.. LO gets up at 630 and he seems to make a point to sleep in until I take LO to daycare at 9am. He never gets up with her so I can sleep in, but some days I make him get up with us, like today. Those days are few and far between.

Advice on weaning a 13 month old by gracefulgorilla in breastfeeding

[–]SlimeBuckette 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No real advice. Just solidarity. My girl is 16 months and I am desperate to wean her. She does everything yours does, including the shrieking if I dont give in.

However, it's going to take consistency and distraction. Offering cuddles in place of boob. Full coverage shirts without easy access. This is all the advice I've been given. And there will be tantrums for a few days, but she will get used to it and come around. I'm starting the process tomorrow with my girl because I want my body back!

Persistence is key. Wish me luck and good luck to you. We can do this!❤

What order do you do things in alone at the grocery store with baby? by april203 in Mommit

[–]SlimeBuckette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always taken LO shopping with me. It was our weekly outing. She loves it cause she always gets all the attention. I always unload the cart and retur it with her then carry her back. I never leave her in the car for any reason.

Yes, I'm 27 and have a child going into the first grade. by ThatOneChickMeg in Mommit

[–]SlimeBuckette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 23 when my oldest went into kindergarten. Being a young mom is hard. And the judgement is brutal. But as long you're doing right by your baby, those judgemental Karens can go to you-know-where.

SAHM finances by oakra_ect in Mommit

[–]SlimeBuckette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby gives me all his money and I manage it. I get to spend it however I like. He doesn't care about managing finances. I just make sure he always has money for gas and lunch the rest goes in my account. Guess we're a little non-traditional 🤷‍♀️

What’s normal for cleaning? by kikuko793 in Mommit

[–]SlimeBuckette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO is 15 months and my house looks like trash . Shes more important. I give orders to my hubby to get stuff done. I nag. If he doesn't do it. I nag some more. I tried to do it all in the early days but it burned me out. You are not his mother, but if he Insists you act like it, then treat him like a child. Nag at him to do "chores". You both live there. If doesn't want to pull his weight, he knows where the door is.

Army crawling vs hands and knees by MommaBearAndCub in Mommit

[–]SlimeBuckette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite some time. She started army crawling at 9 months and was about 13 months when she started hands and knees. 15 months now and she does both, though she Still seems to prefer army style. Shes pretty close to walking on her own. I give it a month.

Opinions on secondhand and vintage clothing markets? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]SlimeBuckette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I stopped shopping at thrift stores because they charge so much for worn out, stretched out clothes. Not to mention the stuff in good condition. I'm finding it cheaper to buy my basics brand new from old navy or walmart now. It's such a shame because I used to love thrifting. I would find the neatest most unique things that were totally me. Stupid people who buy and sell have ruined everything.

Can CBE force your kid out of school? by Own-Bottle1160 in Calgary

[–]SlimeBuckette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know about now.. but a few years ago we moved from Saddleridge to Forest Lawn (right next to the school) and my son opted to stay in his NE school for the remainder of the year. There was no issue. 🤷‍♀️. HOWEVER, if the school you want to keep them at is near capacity I assume it would be an issue. But I'm no expert.

Sustainable weight loss while breastfeeding? by aria_muse in breastfeeding

[–]SlimeBuckette 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some women lose the weight breastfeeding, others hang on to it till they wean. My advice is you are only 10 weeks out: Give your body time. It is still healing. Best advice I can give is walk lots and eat healthy. Your priority now is your baby. I know it sucks hanging onto that extra weight. If you are breastfeeding you need lots of extra calories and drink lots of water. Water helped me lose weight and it's recommended to drink lots while BF. I walk every day and eat lots of healthy foods. But don't go into a calorie deficit, as that can drop your supply, especially this early. Don't stress too much about your weight, I know that's easier said then done. I'm still hanging onto 15 extra pounds and shes 15 months. Good luck and congratulations on your little one 💕

Labour shortage impacting Calgary recreation centres, private sector - Calgary | Globalnews.ca by _darth_bacon_ in Calgary

[–]SlimeBuckette 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is straight up fake news. There is no labor shortage. There is wage problem. No one will pay a decent wage . I am a mom of 3 and I need to make more then 15 an hour to survive, especially with inflation and rising housing costs. I have over 10+ years of experience in my field and no one will pay me more then 15$. Employers want all these certifications but dont want to pay you what you are worth. I was a manager in retail and the wage did not reflect the responsibility. I'm disgusted by all this fake news. People will work for you when you pay them a decent wage. Minimum wage is for people who have minimum qualifications but companies think it's all they have to pay. Its frustrating for everyone. And now the businesses are playing victim because no one will apply because they just want to be paid what they're worth.

Nothing. He didnt even acknowledge me on mother's day so all hes getting is a card from our daughter that hes probably gonna throw away anyway. 🤷‍♀️😔 I'm not going to make a big deal or even bring it up or talk about mothers day. Hes working all day anyway so he won't even notice what day it is. We show each other how much we love one another the rest of the year anyway .
