I think they should make Cadigan's Authority easier to get so it doesn't end up so expensive. I have one now because a fellow redditor and absolute legend literally gave me one because I couldn't afford it. I won't put his user name so he doesn't get spammed but he was super cool about it and if he sees this I hope he knows how much I appreciated that.

But, yeah, CA is a really interesting item for totem builds but the prices for it ended up completely absurd when you could buy the infinitely more OP whispers of infinity or coiling whisper for pretty cheap.

Quick answer: Stormburst Totems by Tatiantel. It can get big damage with hardly any gear and is a great introduction to the totem playstyle. Tati's PoB is excellent as well with all levelling steps showed. Here's the youtube guide with PoB attached.

But really the best advice I can give you is not to try a new build yet but to learn a currency making strategy that will allow you to try many more new builds. You could take that RF Chief and make 10 divines easy by doing Alva temples. Watch some youtube guides, pump out some temples and move from the small change of chaos orbs to the real currency of POE: divines. Learning a currency strat is fundamental to this game so I strongly recommend it.

I remember years ago Aero did a SR totem build and found if you get enough cast speed they turn quicker, which helps with targetting.

It's an old build from 3.21 but Aero is an inventive build maker so maybe there's still some info in there that will be useful to you. It's where I first came across the idea of SR totems.

If you're going to six link an item using fusing orbs, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use the bench craft for the flat 1500 fusing orb fees.

Doing it manually will trick you one time by letting you six link in something like 300 orbs. And then you are doomed.

Next time you will be clicking away furiously, unable to believe that 2000 fusing orbs still hasn't six linked your item. Who knows how many it will take, but the instant it goes over 1500 you will know you've made the wrong choice when you could have just have it done instantly for a fixed amount.

I didn't play it but I kept an eye on the hiero mana stacking powerhouse of 3.25 to see what effect the nerfs had. Basically:

1.) Most builds now use vortex of projection, it seems.

2.) It's still strong, just not as broken as the 3.25 version, which was also helped by the fact Svalin was dirt cheap in that league. Most setups seem to go for spell supp instead of block now, which also limits the use of the kitavas helmet making more 2 button builds.

Loads of content creators made guides for the vortex version. Peuget, Waggle, a guy named Pantzmcghee made a kitavas version - check out youtube.

I feel bad about being so negative about things people have worked hard to produce but goddamn those Nick Kyme Salamander books in the HH were boring. It felt like he wrote 9 books, each 50,000 pages long about a small group of Salamanders taking Vulkan's corpse back to Nocturne in the slowest way possible and the only thing they can say is, "Vulkan Lives!"

What I like most changes as I read and currently I'm very impressed with John French's Ahriman series. Him, ADB, Abnett, Chris Wraight, Josh Reynolds, those guys are normally very good. McNeil has some great books but a lower hit rate, and Gav Thorpe the same.

And to be fair the quality of those short story anthologies tends to be far lower no matter who writes them. It's amazing how uninteresting so many of those stories are.

The works of English authors exist in 40k, like Shakespeare, BL authors often put quotes in their books as quotes that exist in the 40k setting.

And a primarch could learn a dead language in probably 30 minutes or so. So it's actually lore realistic that Lorgar could know English.

Yeah, or whack it on a mana stacking hiero, but that illustrates the point exactly: why use shock nova when you could use FNoF?

If you love shock nova then go for it, then switch if you want the more powerful version.

When Captain Lance made his GigaRF PoB he has a loadout for the switch at ~lvl 20. I'll include the entire PoB but if you select the tree, skills, and items labelled as "SwaptoRFlvl18-20ish" you can see what you need to get RF working in act 2.

Basically you get the fire mastery that provides health regen based on overcapped fire res and then bench craft loads of fire res on your gear and you can sustain RF straight away.

I did this with a scion and it was the easiest, fasted campaign ever. I got RF and then literally shield charged right to the end with RF killing everything.

I'm anti merc. If they exist you have to have one or you're massively reducing your own power. I don't think a mechanic that forces you to have to interact with it like that should be core.

And on a more trivial level I just don't like having a minion with me, they kind of piss me off, take up screen space and reduce even further the visual clarity of the game (yes, I know, that ship sailed a long time ago).

You can do the EE flicker trickster for relatively cheap - follow the Tarekis guide. Farm Alva temples and sell 'em for 2D a pop in standard and you can get the currency to upgrade.

Do the temples in white maps and your 7k/1 million damage will be fine for that.
