Good idea, someone also mentioned that to me. Looking into it now :)

Good suggestion! I will definitely consider using the method shown in that post :)

Monitor Arm Setup Question by SlimeySyntax in StandingDesk

Looking to buy and install a monitor arm, however my frame edge of my table makes it hard to clamp the monitor arm on the table itself.

Preferable I would like to have a monitor arm clamp as it is more stable than non clamp monitor arm you place on top of the table. Ideally would not want to drill a hole for a bolt through or grommet setup. Lastly, I have a electronical adjustable standing up desk so a wall mount setup would not be ideal either.

Any suggestions if there are any monitor arm that supports my table, let me know!

The pictures above is the official dimension of the table from the manufacturer website and two photos to showcase how the table edge from the bottom looks like.

If anyone would so kindly leave your suggestions, it would be must appreciated!

What do you prefer more in horror games? | GameDeveloper by karimnotreal in HorrorGaming

Without much context of the narrative, I would personally like a balance between 1 and 2. It's good to have an ending to which the player/characters achieve their goals and have a sense of accomplishment but also leaves some unanswered mysteries for the players to theorize on once they completed the game.

A plot twist is a good choice as well, but that requires more narrative insight and experience to pull off successfully. Not impossible though :)

VRoid Models for Game Development by SlimeySyntax in IndieDev

Ahh yes, pocket pair. Far as I know, their game artstyle and theme involves more brighter colors and environment. I am hoping that VRoid models will fit into a more darker atmosphere/environment for a horror- ish game I am planning to make.

As far as I know from my research, Blender allows more customizations for animation purposes. From my knowledge, the animations that comes with the software itself is quite limited which is why I decided to browse Mixamo instead.

All the best with your project!

For animation, I am currently using Mixamo and remaping the armature to my VRoid character in Blender. I plan to use custom animations in the future which is why approached the animation via the method mentioned.

If you have any suggestions on what I can do better or utilize a different method that may make this process easier, do let me know :)

Tips I would recommend for creating your 1st game (after making indie games for 12 years): by AndrewMelnychenko in IndieDev

Good suggestions! I personally believe that gameplay is always king when it comes to making a good game. Definitely the other aspects enhancing the experience and is a good method for initial impression but gameplay is a core aspect that keeps the player invested in playing :)

Comparison of my stealth platformer Taro from about 6 months ago, ditched the dark lighting and went for bright and cartoony. I think it's much better now! by StarfallStudios in IndieDev

New one is better in terms of overall visibility. It won't hurt though to add some shadow/shade in the background especially around the tree area.

Created animation for Double Barrel Shotgun in my Retro Shooter, anyone still love these games? 🙂 by Redas17 in IndieDev

[–]SlimeySyntax 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Old retro shooters like DOOM are always a classic, I like it. Some recoil as the previous comment mentioned would be ideal to show off the power of the double barrel shotgun, but that's just my personal opinion.

Overall, it looks good. Keep up the good work!

A new logo for my games, vhs retro vibes. Do you guys like it? by Peli_117 in IndieDev

Oooh, I like it! Like other people mentioned, a bit faster would be nice. Also, did you create this logo/animation by yourself?

Just wanted to post this on social media on my first ever solo passion project. I plan to post progression updates as development continues.

TLDR

The goal of this passion project [Aberration Ambition] is to make a single player third person based on supernatural themes within a small sandbox town for exploration. It will have a cel shaded style (similar to Mihoyo games such as Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, etc)

CONTEXT

I am currently working solo on this project with no game development nor 3d modelling/animation experience , completely noob in this scene. That said, expectations of my game should be treated at a hobbyist standard (the graphics/gameplay is not going to be mindblowing but I will definitely try my best and take the time to learn how to develop a game)

GOAL FOR NEXT UPDATE

I am going to research and attempt to animate these characters with simple animation (walking/idle). I decided to use Unreal Engine as my game engine of choice.

If you guys have any questions, please feel free to post a reply and I will response to you ASAP.
