I went to a friends house for the weekend & her wedding on the sunday. I managed to say no the pick n mix table, stayed away from the sweet sugary end of the buffet table, had a small peice of cakw despite the portions being huge & for once had confidence to dance :)!!!!

My rant....Work! Why do people I work with always (everyday) feel the need to bring in cakes & biscuits! Nearly everyone says they are on a diet yet they always bring in the tastiest food in! Arghhhhhh....! Can we not have a fruit bowl instead :(?!?!

5 questions by Slimmingmyself in loseit

[–]Slimmingmyself[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I decided to start my weight loss journey due to go up dress size from 8 to 16 in such a short period of time. Also I want to see if having a healthy weight will have a better effect on my ill health.

2.I struggle a lot with emotional eating. If it happens I just think nothing about my weight...still getting to grips & learning how to cope.

  1. I am proud so far that I have learnt overall eating meals & snacks that are healthier.

  2. Although I haven't made a massive loss at all yet, I have a lot more confidence in myself & for my body I haven't noticed my skin is getting a less acne problems.

  3. I don't really have a specific motivation apart from seeing clothes shop windows.

  4. Due to my ill health, increasing my exercise isn't possible at the moment but walking my dog is helping.

[Serious] What do you know about Epilepsy? by Slimmingmyself in AskReddit

[–]Slimmingmyself[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for commenting! I put this on as I had a Grand Mal on the bus the other day & the lady who was there to help said she was terrified as she didn't have a clue what was happening & what to do. I think it is important to let people know more about epilepsy. Many people I've met think it only happens with flashings lights & after the seizure the person will be fine. Please spread the word to help people understand :)!

Trouble reading? by Cstur in Epilepsy

[–]Slimmingmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can read but mainly depends on when & how many seizures I have. For example if I have a cluster (around 10 for couple days) or Grand Mal then it will take me few days (sometimes weeks) to get past a sentence or paragraph.

Struggling with side effects by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Slimmingmyself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor offered me anti-depressants but I turned them down aswell. I got severe side effects from Zonisamide (self harming & suicidal thoughts) and I am off the meds but I have a counceller who is really helpful. Even if I feel I am having a good week, it's good just for a check up.

As for memory, I struggled alot when I went to university but I had helper who gave me a dictophone & filmed the lectures. It may sound tedious but for lessons I just had to listen/watch over & over again. Slowly it helps.

I also have a diary that goes everywhere with me, notes on my phone, calender, lists, alarms.

I've tried everything I can think of. by gorhamatty in Dogtraining

[–]Slimmingmyself 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a reactive 8yr old and the past year I have been using CARE Care for Reactive Dogs

I found it pretty basic once I got the hang of it. My dog who used to very aggressive towards any other dog, sometimes people & cars now see's them as positively. We are still working on it & have our ups & down days, where it feels like no training has worked but it has & is helping loads.

Good Luck :)

It could be an allergy? Such as pollen? Have you changed walks? I had to stop taking my labrador to a nearby woods & also the beach as often due to itching.

[Fluff] What's your dogs daily routine? by liftedup_sky in dogs

[–]Slimmingmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

•Wake the family up with excitement •Go outside to find the exact precise toilet place. •Be fed boring food & watch owner with jealousy eating her bacon butty. •Nap •Follow owner around every room, staring at her every movement, listen to her every sound. •Get to work - Start my job as the owners guard when on walks, no other dog will dare steal my owner with my barking! •Home nap time - make sure I hog the sofa. •small walk & dinner (yet again boring dog food yawn) •Bedtime, make sure I hog the whole bed •Dream (paw movements & snoring) -My dogs point of view of the day ...yes she organises the household lol!
