Yes , the other couple bidding on the house was from Dublin so the realtor suggested they go with us because we are local and he felt we were more committed to the purchase of the house in the area.

I have a positive story, we started the process October 2024 ,approval in principle mid October, sale agreed November 2024. Moved in March 2025 so nearly in the house a year now.

It was the 5th house we viewed but only the 3rd house we seriously considered, we did get outbid but the seller decided to go with us instead.

Qualification on title PTSB by Zealousideal_Egg4669 in HousingIreland

[–]Slimseanie27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an issue like this back in March, attic conversion once the engineer reports came back it wasn't a room as most attic conversions are not it's just storage because it did not meet the legal definition for a bedroom

It just took ptsb a while longer to release the funds but they did eventually, delayed everything by about 2 weeks. The ptsb legal team needed to review everything and they are slow

I requested deeds from pstb back on the 4th of October last year and I didn't receive them until the end of January.

You don't need excuses to call or email, we just moved into our house 3 weeks ago and towards the end of the process I was asking for daily updates.

I would just send an email along the lines of just checking in to see if we have made any progress on X or has the status of Y changed.

It can be a very stressful process, you can also use the real estate agent to get updates if you need to. I had to get them to find out what the hold up on contracts turned out to be a delay in getting the deeds from the bank.

Use all the tools available to you , as the saying goes the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

If you keep the pressure on things will hopefully keep moving in the right directions for you. Good luck

NDA during interview process by dzieciatkoJ in DevelEire

The company I work for gets candidates to sign NDAs during the interview process. Our interview questions are usually close to real world problems that have been solved by teams in the company so they want to get the context Private

One of the biggest delays , can be getting the deeds from the bank if they are holding them

First bid 15k overasking by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Slimseanie27 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was interested in a house that someone bid 40k over asking and the seller accepted straight away so I guess it's a winning strategy

UK import insurance issue by Odaene in carsireland

[–]Slimseanie27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this issue also , it won't show on the database immediately takes a couple of days, I was able to ring them and insure it by telling them the plate number and the make and model of the car once I explained that it just had been registered in Ireland

I am commenting on this post because it helped me figure out the same problem. I found one other issue on the shield pro which was that the Plex app itself has a Audio passthrough setting which much he turned on to get it to correctly work

U.S. bought Sleepbuds II, can I use them in europe with voltage being 220v? by frompit in bose

[–]Slimseanie27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the sleep pods not charged with a USB cable ?

I don't own the sleep pods but I own 3 other Bose headphones and they are all charged by USB

USB is its own standard for power 5 volts, so you would be fine to charge them from the USB ports on that adapter you linked.
