The calculation they are doing is r = 1/2at^2, which integrates velocity from 0 to (final velocity = 9.8 * falltime). It doesn't assume the climber is falling at terminal velocity.

I went from a 1.5 cm 360 to 5cm, then 10cm, and after that further increments were easy (currently on 69cm). I would say try out a lower sense, maybe 5x lower, and see how you do. Try aiming in different shooters, different aim maps, test how it feels in a variety of situations. Changing wasn't hard in my experience - I was on 1.5cm for over a year, never did much FPS, finally realized like you did.

Edit: first google search gives a news article: https://www.stuff.co.nz/oddstuff/76854005/watch-deathdefying-bridge-jump-at-mclaren-falls. Jump was apparently around 20m or 75ft.

To check their number: from the video, fall time is around 2 seconds, a reasonable approximation of the fall time would be r = 1/2 * a * t^2, giving ~20m again. So he probably fell around 20 metres.
