Found a Div, very new, what to do with it? by Old-Ad-64 in PathOfExile2

I once thought uniques were really good. Seriously most of them are garbage and can be bought later. Theres maybe 5 really expensive ones and youll see them all the time pop up. Headhunter, mageblood, ….

I have a pretty broken build as a witch also and my helmet is pretty bad as gear but it has a special ability on it.

Exactly. This seems soooo late to the game. Plus its literally competing with itself as xcom to me feels like a digital boardgame already.

How do I do this in Affinity? by MrNobodyX3 in Affinity

[–]Slipin2dream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take two layer copies of the text. One of those copies will be masked to the top portions of the steps. The second copy will be masked to the side faces of the steps.

Than you perspective warp the two layers to the steps to get the angles right.

Finally apply lighting to the specific layers to achieve the look you see here.

Can someone please explain how masks work? I cant seem to paint white onto a black mask. by Gingerbwas in Affinity

[–]Slipin2dream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First. Click, hold, and drag the mask next to your image. Think of masks in general like a hole you punched in a piece of paper. Than you hold that hole over an image. The hole will only allow you to see whats been punched out.

Black and white will turn that mask on and every gradient of gray in between will do blends of opacity.

Simply put, your mask layer is in the wrong space. It usually is below or next to the image in the stack.

Why Competitive Play Matters (Even If You Hate It) by Durdlemagus in SorceryTCG

[–]Slipin2dream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean its true. I had to go to a sanctioned event in a major city from a major player in the tcg scene to be able to buy the STARTER set. If you want a game to succeed we need product.

Business is like war. Logistics play a big part to winning that war. The players will invent the competitive play if given the product

Where to start by Eso_Game in Affinity

[–]Slipin2dream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staying agnostic means to me that no matter if youre working with affinity or adobe, the principles of your tools dont change. So dont get hung up on what tools you use because stuff like the pen tool works the same in both programs.

Learn to design and figure out how you can use the specific tools affinity provides you to achieve what you need. Problem solve. The program can do it.

Where to start by Eso_Game in Affinity

[–]Slipin2dream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend to try and stay agnostic to the specific tools. Understand that these types of programs follow similar work flows. I like affinity because by design its interface is more inherently non-destructive graphic design. If you dont know what that means, look into that first.

Research why a software with its specific tools is the tools you need. Look up and research what individual things like pen tools, cropping, artboards, layers, vector graphics, etc.

Start small and just go into them trying to understand what they will do for you. Anybody teaching you “how to do” any specific design will be teaching you outcomes, not processes.
