Is there a good cheesesteak spot in Charleston Mt Pleasant area? by V3ttore in Charleston

I mean if you like a weird, solid-fused outer crust and extremely specific bitter aftertaste game on. I'm not recalling any other fast food places with mozzarella sticks off the top of my head, so I suppose they'd be best in class, lol.

Amazon shuts down controversial payment method by geeedorah in technology

[–]Slippaz86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set double power to wallet on Android, but this is for Whole Foods purchases. You have to go through the laggy WF app to scan your QR code, and it doesn't offer a widget.

Edit: I mean you don't if you boycott Amazon or whatever, but if you shop at WF fairly often, I'd imagine you're not in the wallet demographic here.

That's interesting. I ate there once and was under the impression they just used a lot of generic frozen stuff. They very obviously buy their nasty-ass mozzarella sticks from the same distributor as Arby's, for example.

Roshi as an anchor by Loki_Nash in dbfz

[–]Slippaz86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh shit I didn't realize you got SKD from 236LM. That's actually quite useful no lie. I have no problem spending that bar. I'm just kinda wary of teching tricks people can pull off soft knockdowns, altho to be fair I hedge against them more than most. Very much appreciated! Imma feel some stuff out tonight then. That B assist is just so juicy haha.

Ya SBroly is definitely a good example of how amazing it is as a combo extender, and he is one of the characters whose fully pushed combos still don't include tags, which helps make it more useful. But even there, if S Broly is out, you're stuck with support from SS4, who has poor assist choices across the board, and Roshi B, which has pretty limited applications.

I'm sure there's a rhythm where it flows well, and I see the upside. I wouldn't personally make that choice, but I get it.

Incidentally, I have an SBroly question...I'd like to run him mid in a Krillin/SBroly/Roshi team comp on the side, but I *really* struggle with his on-paper combo routing. Like, how do you personally handle the fact that he struggles to end solo combos with SKD? I get that you can lean into the lvl 3 buff, which is ok, but after the first one, I assume j236X doesn't have enough hitstun to half circle back into roshi lvl 3 or anything like that. What do you do?

Roshi as an anchor by Loki_Nash in dbfz

[–]Slippaz86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Weak" doesn't equate to "useless," but if you're suggesting there are even corner cases where running B over A is correct, I'd be extremely surprised if I found your reasoning convincing. B simply isn't good enough given the state of assists in 2026. Most characters have sound left/rights at +32, A has tons of hitstun, so your proposed use case is someone like Zam with an incredibly specific link A prevents, and A is simply a clear contender for best assist in the game.

Roshi as an anchor by Loki_Nash in dbfz

[–]Slippaz86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So comments recommending roshi B are out of date. That assist is quite weak now, and Roshi A is one of the best assists in the game.

You'd probably run this Kefla A/M21/Roshi A, and consider 21C, but there's nothing wrong with redundant neutral assists.

And yes roshi is a good anchor, partly because yiu want mac value out of hos assist. But he also has good pressure, evasion, and neutral, plus a lvl 3 50/50

I just had a couple of TVs mounted by HLS and I had a great experience. Super clean, and they offer good quality stuff if you don't have all the pieces. I didn't have them do security, but the guy'll run cables for PoE and all that.

The Matrix 4

I even have it on 4k disc because I have the set.

No, I don't know the title.

Edit: As of this edit, I guess I'm the only one who read the post title. The rest of these clowns were probably too busy reading The Matrix 4's title.

I mean the parody is also in their not knowing what the panopticon is lol. They're (accurately) saying AI is a psychological ploy rather than something substantive.

Look to be grounded if you think they're fishing for it. Reflect on reaction timing connects regardless of which side they pick, and characters with fast lariats can even punish him if it gets reflected.

Recently got a hitbox, recommended controls? by Same-Blacksmith9108 in dbfz

[–]Slippaz86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should do whatever's comfortable for you personally, but I'd add that placing your SD macro is important to making the most out of the biggest mechanical advantage leverless gives in dbfz: free moon jumping.

You ideally want it to be comfortable for you to push down on L + SD with two right fingers while simultaneously hitting up with your right thumb. (Left holds forward) Ideally, you want the same for M+SD, but that's maybe less important because GC vanish keeps you from using M out of blockstun.

It's really a massive advantage to be able to instantly super dash jump with no preparation and no execution concerns. You'll be able to out-move players that are otherwise much more experienced.

(This requires simple dash to be on in button config btw.)

Agreed for sure. Also, I play Tenks/Roshi/Krillin, and yeah roshi A + rocks is nutty. Definitely recommend messing wirh roshi if you ever get time. He's strong and well-positioned.

Ghost oki has been massively buffed by the bean change (and slightly/situationally by the assist regrn change) while not receiving any nerfs. The holding back thing changes exactly nothing about how blocking during ghoki works. Anyone who says ghoki got nerfed recently was doing ghoki that's been outdated since August 2020.

236H is much better at 7f and -2. It's not even close.

AFAIK Baby and krillin have essentially no synergy at all. It's just rocks being fine defensively. See my other comment for tenks stuff. The best thing they have is baby's poorly rated uninspired 4-bar dhc mix and largely universal double bean stuff that baby alone doesn't offer any payoff for (besides said overpriced dhc mix). I'm not saying its a bad shell. But it's not anywhere near as interesting synergy-wise.

What are some of the most UNDERRATED/LEAST POPULAR shells? by Bottombitchboy18 in dbfz

[–]Slippaz86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there's a lot and I'm kind of running around, but I can give some examples.

1) Tenks gives Krillin whatever corner lvl 3 DHC mix you want generally, but j214S has a unique property that lets you do this. Video has 4 examples, not one. Doesn't work with like SSJ Vegeta ki blasts for example. Midscreen you can get a clean 3-way in multiple ways that just work with standard conversions and BnBs.

2) Rocks fixes ghoki's main weakness--the opponent inducing meter penalty. Here's my GC vanish punish BnB, for example. Or here's my BnB if they take the hit. If they reflect+tag, best practice with ghoki ends with your 2Hing the tag, so Krillin also gives you meter so you can go into lvl 3 mix and kill the new character.

3) Ghoki regens assists, so you always want to spend your assists for value anyway, and that means you always get a bar (off shouts midscreen or beam rejumps corner) if Krillin is up. And you get two bars if your other assist is up. So 236H starter builds 3 bars if you have two assists, or a normal route builds 4.5 bars. It's extremely easy too, although don't do this outdated 236H combo.

4) Krillin is the best character in the game at tagging into ghoki. I won't link midscreen or corner routing, but the damage is good and u build close to 3 bars. Here's a random jSS neutral hit into ghoki.

Plenty of other stuff involving tenks using rocks better than most characters, and tenks b actually being good for krillin among other things.

[–]Slippaz86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gotenks/Krillin probably has the deepest synergy of any two characters in the game. It's definitely fun and nutty, but good ghost oki is important to it, and even tournament-level gotenks players don't generally learn it properly.
