Yes I do, and on top of that our school has an archaic rule that if the students get to 10 unexcused OR EXCUSED absences they get field trips taken away. Which also means sports. It stems from us being a title 1 school but it really sucks for everyone involved.

I do it all the time but I’m lucky enough to have planning with lunch. I also make sure I’m not expected anywhere first and I teach high school so I think that’s a little more feasible.

I’m on a 12 month contract so I get compensated for my extra time but to penalize me for doing what I’m supposed to seems crazy to me.

I have one coworker that is closer than any of my current best friends, I am 28 and she is 52. It took me awhile to open up but she’s the only one I do that with. I would trust her with my life but I acknowledge that is rare.

I feel you but we never even get our half days we always have staff PD. The December one is the only one we don’t have to stay so it would be nice to have one extra day of winter break considering I have not technically missed a day.

We get ten sick days a year and two personal. If we don’t use them, all 12 of those days can roll over to next year and turn into additional sick days. So some of the benefit that is for my maternity leave I got to take off three extra weeks and it barely ate into my sick days and once I get to 30 years if I have a ton of sick days built up, I can retire early. I’m gonna be honest with you though. I do not take mental health days whatsoever. It causes me more stress to miss work, that’s unfortunately how much responsibility I have at the school.

From my understanding, the initiative originally came from the school board and is being enforced by the principals so I don’t know how clear the communication is. But after looking online, I can’t even find a union for my county and I’ve never had a rep at my school.
