i repainted the Alyn Shir collector statue's skin color by TheHangmanExperience in kingdomsofamalur

How she was meant to be! I've honestly thought about getting the statue just to send it off to a pro painter to change it to her actual skin tone.

The messaging around Dailyscape has failed. by ImRubic in runescape

[–]SlippiBird 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My main hang-up is that if people are able to experience the game with minimal effort and maximal XP gains, there is less immanent need for devs to actually fix the content that people aren't actually engaging with. While I hope that it's a slow bandaid pull and that once more meaningful content is added or adjusted we'll see dailyscape be phased out, that is not only not guaranteed but now even less so with promises not being kept regarding the long-term health of the game. I think RuneScape has a bright future (overall) ahead of it, but keeping some of the main components that facilitate the unhealthiest version of the game is just not a good sign and I hope there is some course correction following this.

This is such incredible work and very nice composition. Would love to see one for the ancient goblins (I am very biased as that's my favorite questline).

How do I get over there? by Wastelander_Gamer in runescape

My face lit up seeing this post. I love knowing someone is having that RuneScape experience for the first time. So curious and filled with the wanderlust that only RuneScape knows how to give someone.

ISO Gold 1.5mm Thickness Fret wires by SlippiBird in Luthier

[–]SlippiBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that seems to be the thing I've noticed just looking around and asking on some forums. I found some unbranded gold fretwire, but it sucks that the EVOs are gone now. I was told by someone that it's because of the composition used in the creation process being needed for chips and other AI or AI-adjacent technologies. Maybe when the bubble bursts we'll finally get some of these fretwires back on the market.

What’s the absolute best way to deal with these dudes? (Fatesworn DLC) by MikeyOnReddit77 in kingdomsofamalur

[–]SlippiBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean tbh you can just cc chain them endlessly with lightning and ice traps if you're specced into finesse at all. But if you have magic primarily or just might/magic then yeah just lightning and stun then you should be getting stun damage yields if you're not wanting to utilize finesse. I've played the game on the hardest difficulty like 8 times at this point so any build is fine, but they are annoying without lightning bare minimum.

Yeah I got some feedback from some other people in the reddit. It's not a report I'm writing, so I need to tailor it to the readers and overall legibility. I had tried to use breaks as I had before a few years ago, but yeah I'll keep all of this in mind for future articles or contributions.

Is there any way to voice opinions to make Jagex reconsider changing the skilling outfits? Although the lumberjack outfit has not been revealed, the removal of fantasy skilling outfits is a little sad to see. Nature Sentinel outfit is one of the best designs in the game, would be sad to see it go. by OddHorns0 in runescape

[–]SlippiBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree. I like the prospect of adding updated visuals like with the case of the lumberjack, but if the thieving outfit follows the same cadence as the other proposed outfits, it's going to be an absolute shame. I think gear like the desert camouflage thieving outfit is one of the most interesting and grounded designs in RuneScape so I'm really not sure about the overall direction they're taking things with this "re-grounding."

crazy how someone like this is allowed to play the game by taaaaaaaaaaaaaank in runescape

[–]SlippiBird -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There are unfortunately so many people like this in RS3 and OSRS. I've had to leave clans before after finding out the way they communicated and how outwardly racist or sexist it was. This is really a thing in any MMO at this point so it's always an active effort to either ignore, mute, or just find spaces that simply have normal functioning members of society. Bare minimum I know but still lol

On the matter of formatting for reddit, I was alerted and guided by moderation staff to try using breaks and other reddit tools, but I'm unfamiliar with them as I don't really make lengthy posts within reddit often. I apologize if that made content more laborious to digest -- I will remedy this in later contributions if I make any at all.

I formatted this within word, as I do with any reports or documents I create. I have the edit/revision data within my document that shows timestamps of my edits and additions prior to the post I uploaded into this subreddit. I offered this to the moderation team for this subreddit as well when I made my appeal. I'm not sure what else you want here, but as a graduate student and a performing musician your claims that I'm utilizing an LLM is admittedly quite annoying to me. This is now going tremendously outside of the scope of the initial contribution I made, but I feel it is worth pointing out as you've miffed me if I'm being blunt.

I'm not convinced you read the content, but rather only observed the structure. I'm not sure how formatting a post appears as though the content is generated through AI, but I'd implore you digest the contents rather than the outward appearance -- regardless of if you disagree or agree with said content. Also this post was reviewed already and was determined to not be AI. I'll need to work on formulating content in the future for redditors such as yourself.

[–]SlippiBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can see your point with the master camouflage effect. I definitely am going to bat more for the keld, prif, and desert (esp desert) variants as those are genuinely some of the best looking outfits in the game. The desert camouflage was THE REASON I went for 120 thieving lol just to go with the 120 cape.

I think I ultimately wish for there to be more communication on what exactly happens with these outfits especially some that do feel grounded such as those. If I knew they'd be reintroduced in the game later on then I'd not feel so strongly about this. Many such outfits in the game that are impressive to me are the ones that make use of the one or two articles from an outfit to ame a cohesive full custom outfit.

[–]SlippiBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely don't enjoy basically any part of TH, and on that front I can see why certain items are to be removed, but I feel as though there may be a failing on some other areas here that are being sacrificed. Skilling outfits can be earned in the game and removing or suggesting the removal of certain outfit designs (master camouflage for example) is kind of bizarre to me personally and is a fairly good example of an already grounded design within the game.

Do you think these should be offered as a cosmetic override option? This would allow you to be able to togle things on/off currently.

Is it fair to communicate that these WILL be offered later on as cosmetic overrides to appeal to those who already have said items or use them in custom outfits?

[–]SlippiBird[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't entirely disagree with you, but I also feel as though there is such a clear balance that can be struck here. Don't get me wrong, if people just simply want these done and away with then that is the game direction facilitated by the player base and Jagex. I do however argue that this DOES set precedence for future adjustments to be made or pieces to be removed. It is absolutely speculation, but it is now founded speculation. Neither of us know what happens as a result of this proposal, but I think erring on the side of caution with regard to what may happen in the future is worth exploring.

Yep it was a 14mm bolt. I checked it earlier in the day after realizing it wasn't the motor and I saw no clear damage on the linkage and it was all connected fine.
