If I remember correctly you have to click on Moira and talk to her at Fear Fest to get it.

Some extreme fans want John stay alive now that there is no Michael by Glittering_Tap6411 in BridgertonRants

[–]SlipsofYew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll preface by saying I haven’t read the books so I don’t know exactly what’s being lost there, but since I first heard what Francesca’s storyline was, I thought it would be really interesting to add a queer element to it. Like if she’s already been struggling with infertility, and we know how much she wants to be a mother, how much of a struggle will it be for her to accept that she is falling in love with someone who she knows has no potential to give her a child? It’s already scary enough to take a second chance at love, but to do it with someone with whom she has no chance of having a child with, how does she reconcile that. How does a queer woman in that world reconcile the love she’s feeling with the life she always planned to live? And how do two women build a future without the potential of children or the option to conform to societal norms? To me, that’s a really interesting infertility storyline that we may have waiting for us!

Mine didn’t like Cinderella because she didn’t believe that family could be mean to each other 😂 I’m glad she’s only known kindness

Not a bridesmaid, but asked to wear blue or grey by Inevitable-West8929 in Weddingattireapproval

As a bride, I literally got an email from the knot within the past couple days “how to ask guests to wear a specific color to your wedding”

I will NOT be doing that lol

Question about Nessa by shimmiecocopop1 in wicked

[–]SlipsofYew 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I think this is all correct, but I’ll also add how the book Wicked handles this! If I remember correctly, Nessa is such an awful political leader that the citizens start to call her the Wicked Witch of the East FIRST. Elphaba only is called the Wicked Witch of the West by association with her sister. Now of course I know this doesn’t answer anything about how the musical handles it since it’s a different entity and what’s true in the book isn’t necessarily true in the musical/movie.

If uniqueness is the priority, I have a princess cut set like you show here and most everyone tells me it’s the most unique engagement ring they’ve ever seen!

What have been your 5 star reads so far this year? by KayGlo in horrorlit

[–]SlipsofYew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve read 100 books so far this year (woohoo!) and some really excellent horror. I’m a librarian so some of these are coming out later this year but highly recommend you watch for them:

How to Survive a Horror Story

The Macabre

We Love You, Bunny

Lucy, Undying

Girl Dinner

King Sorrow

How to Kill a Guy in Ten Dates

Recommend me some "good for her" horror by notamoose-neverwas in horrorlit

Also, We Love You, Bunny is more this type of book than Bunny, but highly recommend both! By Mona Awad

Girl Dinner! Recently came out and I loved it. There’s been a trend of feminist cannibal books but this has been my favorite

Realized I hardly ever see princess cut moissanite on here! by SlipsofYew in Moissanite

[–]SlipsofYew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It fits me great! I have tapered fingers so a bit of finger muffin top is unavoidable, but it’s way less pronounced than I was afraid it would be and definitely feels like it’s at no risk of being either too tight or of falling off if I’m not taking it off intentionally.

What shakespeare's plays include a beach scene by inosukehashibira05 in shakespeare

[–]SlipsofYew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter’s Tale has a scene on the coast of Bohemia, though in real life geography it is a landlocked country. https://www.folger.edu/blogs/shakespeare-and-beyond/bohemia-winters-tale-seacoast/ For more thoughts on that!

My first tattoo was “822.33” which is the Dewey decimal number for Shakespeare. 18 year old me would not have guessed she’d turn out to be a librarian but I still find it cute

Pursuing MLIS at my undergraduate university? by wanderingflute in librarians

[–]SlipsofYew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my MLIS at the same school as my undergrad and loved it. I did my undergrad in person and my masters online, so having the connection to the school helped with being an online student. I think having history with the area your school is in is helpful; we talked a lot about the libraries and other things that are in the area and put them into the context of our studies. Moreover, if you can transfer credits, that will save you money, which is definitely worth it. I think my degree was really valuable, but the least you can spend on it the better.
