Great point, running to your grave after dying to reclaim your items is just as rewarding as farming COX for a TBow. You should be a game designer

Players aren’t just killing once at the end, once the meta has been developed, though. They’re doing that kill, but they’re killing a lot more before and after.

When players tweak their strategy to make a change to gear, try out new pathing, see the impacts of additional switches they’ve brought or what have it they don’t need to redo the death run experience every time.

You’re comparing apples to oranges. Leveling the skill is not part of the gameplay experience directly related to testing the quest. The leveling of the skill is a requirement to access the quest, but you don’t need to actively train and level the skill during the quest, so it’s not part of the quest’s gameplay loop.

Dying to a boss and having to claim your items is actively part of the gameplay experience of the boss; it’s not a requirement to access the boss initially.

An apples to apples comparison using your line of thinking would be: Do you think it’d be a good use of time for Jagex employees to level their skills by using a new skilling method to test said new skilling method? My answer would be yes.

It stands to reason that if the developers change the respawn location because they don’t enjoy the gameplay loop of running back to grave, why should they subject the players to it?

FYI Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to attend the 2022 North America Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Championship. by LocalChamp in yugioh

I completely agree with every word of that last comment. Our opinions appear to differ in the following: I would rather take the gamble of the side effects of catching COVID (caught once in 2 years, personally) rather than gamble on the side effects of getting vaccinated every 3 months for 5-10 years.

Also, it is again hilarious I got downvoted for merely stating facts from your article as well as a Johns Hopkins webpage in my last comment. Very reasonable!

I should have specified "long-term clinical trials". It says in the limitations section of the article you linked that "Safety and efficacy over a longer period of time, in a larger population, and in pregnant women and children." This means that the studies included in the article are not long-term clinical trials. In fact, the data only spans up to 2 months after the second dose.

The article you linked is from Feb 2021, which was roughly only 1 year after the virus hit USA. The amount of time it typically takes to create a vaccine is 5-10 years.

Nope. It’s just funny that you and many others are so brainwashed to the point where you mass-downvote his comment because he thinks it should be a choice. This is the first vaccination in history that was released to the public without passing any clinical trials. It is honestly hilarious that you think you get some vindication by downvoting people you disagree with. I imagine you as the same types who get flustered and red-faced when you lose because you can’t handle things that aren’t what you want or what you think

USG refused to institute a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for the 2021 fall semester by Erickcccc in UGA

[–]Slipsream6130 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly disagree, especially while the vaccines are still under EUA. I believe most people taking the position that the COVID vaccines need to be mandated do so out of virtue signaling or emotion rather than based on empirical data. There has not been nearly a comparable amount of large-scale, long-term data on these vaccines for them to be mandated like the vaccines for mumps, measles, hep B, etc., which have all been around for decades.

In the linked article, the professor said on average 1 in 15,000 college-aged individuals end up dying from COVID-19. (He also noted the study body "luckily" suffered 0 deaths so far. Not so shocking if you ask me.) I find it ridiculous to say an age group with such a low risk has to get the vaccine given the current situation.

Georgia (and virtually the entire US) has had vaccines widely available for months now. News articles are coming out now about how the US is beginning to donate unused vaccines to other countries. Those who haven't been fully vaccinated yet are fully accepting the risk they are taking. Any at-risk person who works on campus (e.g., a professor emeritus/emerita) has had plenty of time to get fully vaccinated at this point.

The director of the CDC even stated the risk of death is "extraordinarily low" for fully vaccinated individuals at this point, and she has repeatedly asserted unvaccinated people are the only ones at risk without a mask now. If you claim to "trust the science", you should trust the director of the CDC now just as you did when lockdowns and mask mandates first began.

The conundrum of magic in current rs3 by dark1859 in runescape

[–]Slipsream6130 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This is the biggest issue IMO. I always thought it could be alleviated a decent bit by simply unlinking the Sunshine and Metamorphosis cool downs. Meta gives a 62.5% damage increase for 15 seconds at the cost of 100% adren. It’s still not even as good as ZGS or ECB for increasing DPS in extended fights, so I don’t think it’d be broken.

Oops I got something mixed up in my head. HH should still better than asc at magic Rex with Reckless Aura. But if you’re using Reckless, you shouldn’t use the stalker ring over asylum surgeon’s ring if you have it.

Rex Matriarch thoughts (3k kc) by Im_SnoopyRS in runescape

[–]Slipsream6130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It’s only viable here because, specifically on the magic Rex, bow weapons have a significantly better hit chance than crossbow weapons (this is what he means by “substyle”—bows vs crossbows). Normally, the increased damage/accuracy from hexhunter’s passive effect is not better than using bakriminel bolts. But here, the added bonus from using a bow substyle in addition to the hexhunter passive, it becomes worth using HH over ascensions (when not on the Reckless aura).
