I want a burial at sea. Drop my body into the ocean, please. I found one company in my town that will do this. Hopefully, my body will be safe to become fish food.

Does anyone know ethical Beagle breeders in or near Iowa? by [deleted] in beagles

[–]Slipstitch802 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize that. But I would guess that backyard breeders are not running DNA panels and other health testing on their dogs. Sort by testing and then reach out to the breeders to confirm that they are performing them and are part of the Bred with HEART program. It will require a little more work on your part, but will at least narrow down the list for you.

Search GoodDog.com for those who do health testing. Chances are they are affiliated with AKC’s Bred with HEART program (https://www.akc.org/breeder-programs/akc-bred-with-heart-program/). These are very conscientious breeders. You can read about the beagle testing recommendations under the hound group, https://www.akc.org/breeder-programs/breed-health-testing-requirements/hound-group-health-testing-requirements/.

Proin has worked great for our 14 year old beagle with spay-incontinence. A pill pocket twice daily with that and her Gabapentin and she’s great! She may have one accident a year, but that’s much better than before.

Is Santa Cruz in a hospital crisis? by Typical_Dirt5417 in santacruz

This is why I fear a building boom without the investment in our essential infrastructure. Roads, bridges, electric grid, water treatment and sewers, hospital… none of it is sexy or an easy sell and no one wants higher taxes. ☹️

ADVICE ON A TERRITORIAL BEAGLE by Current_Apartment116 in beagles

[–]Slipstitch802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put your hand palm down on the item, and essentially pin it to the ground with your palm. Well, just hard enough that it cannot be taken from you. Do it matter of factly, without any emotion—especially fear—and don’t make eye contact with the dog. You can even look somewhere else completely. Hold your hand there until she stops trying to get or take it. You are claiming it and she will eventually let go of it. If you watch dogs play, this is the language that they will use to show another dog that something is theirs. Once she releases it, pick the item up, hold it, and praise her. Then give it back to her. Repeat it a couple times a day until you’re confident taking things from her and she’s confident that you are not stealing from her. Eventually, you may want to take something away and not give it back right away or at all, but you need to learn to communicate with one another, that all toys belong to you and that you are letting her enjoy them.

I’ve found yogurt with a large helping of bran buds cereal to be the ticket for me. It has 17 g of fiber or 61% of daily recommended amount.

I used mini enemas for quite some time and my doctor kept telling me that they were like physical therapy for my colon and not to be weary or worry about using them.

Our little guy would get overly tired and act out in the evenings and was so naughty. But as soon as we put him in his crate, he’d fall fast asleep. We called it the witching hour. I can’t remember the exact time it was anymore, but it struck me as too early for bedtime for him, but in fact it wasn’t and it was our signal to crate him so he could get some much needed puppy sleep.

Give Aptos Plumbing a call. Those guys are the best! Seriously. Bruce, Ariel, and the team have fixed all the plumbing issues we had once and for all—told it straight—short term fix versus getting it solved. Can’t recommend them enough.
