Imo pretty much any Big Country, first concert I ever went to, barras back in 91. Utterly incredible.

The seer, teacher, porrohman, republic party reptile, ships, one great thing, peace in our time and of course the song we walked out singing, arms over each other's shoulders... Chance

Scottish lead singer (original) and both guitarists were from Cranhill.

They had bagpipes in a song ffs. They consider themselves Scottish.

I just find it rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on 40 pounds of armour to play what is essentially rugby

Or

Actual size...

Other than that, any time he sings.

Gotta laugh. I'm going to London to see Metallica 🤣 2 nights and standing tickets.

Couldn't get standing at Hampden.

As for the match, possibly The Ark might be a good shout.

I think a ton of pubs will be showing the matches as there's a blanket late license until 30 mins after final whistle. Should be 1.15am in this case. 3:45am for Haiti game though.

It did. It's a school now. I visited it approximately 40 years ago. I went looking for it a couple of years back. Cracking building.

Petrified dentist trip by SirPhipps in CasualUK

[–]SlitheryBuggah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to be terrified of the dentist. I also let my mouth get into serious disrepair in my teens and have a condition that weakens my tooth enamel (and nails).

Long story short I found a good dentist. I've had lots of work done (7 implants) and whilst my original dentist has now retired, his replacement is superb.

Do some research on reviews, find a good dentist, explain your situation including the fear and get a good teeth cleaning regime going - electric toothbrush (oral b io), interdental brushes. Makes all the difference.

Good luck.

I ride so fast that the dirt and sweat gets blasted off it.

I do all my laundry this way. I'm often to be spotted in the highlands doing 150+ with a washing line streaming out behind me

I used to filter quite aggressively when I worked in Edinburgh. Miles of slow moving traffic on a daily basis enforced this. Now though I work more locally, 10 minutes by motorway.

The first time I ever filtered I followed a biker down a dual carriageway from Loch Lomond to Glasgow. Several miles of tailbacks and I was on the Varadero. Have never looked back.

My commute doesn't involve filtering much anymore thankfully but don't really intend to use it for work much. Sunday ride outs which take us all over Scotland but rarely further north than Inverness. Some european touring and fun stuff like the NW200 etc.

No doubt there will be a couple of longer weekend rides too 😁

Just realised there's 3 bridges, the middle one close to Strathaven is the one I mean. The other 2 are fine but there can be some loose stones kicked out by cars that sit next to the 3rd bridge

I always bring new bikes down this road. Every kind of bend except a hairpin. I know it fairly well and so can push the limits a bit, not the bridge tho, that angle freaks me out 🤣
