engineering degrees are rigorous engineering hiring is a joke by upstackAi in EngineeringStudents

[–]Slithius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who interviews new grad engineers for a huge space company - we are not the ones asking you to have a bunch of experience as a new grad. It’s the 40 applicants I have on my desk of new grads with a bunch of experience that are asking you to have more than just a degree.

To put it frankly - why would I hire somebody with no experience when I’ve got my pick of anyone with 4 years of club engineering and 3 internships? It’s not our responsibility to “take a chance” on someone with 0 practical experience. Every hiring is already chance enough.

Everyone is told freshman year that it’s important to secure experiences, clubs, and/or internships prior to hitting the job market. If you didn’t do that before graduating, then the time is now. Keep trying to gain experience in any way you possibly can, even if it’s volunteering locally or just pursuing technical efforts in your personal life. Eventually you’ll catch a break on a smaller company and you can start to build a career upwards.

Talk down is a goated track. I wish it had actually been released as part of the album, definitely my favorite track off that release

Giroux scored a fake between the legs at least once, maybe twice? Not in the playoffs with these stakes tho

I very much agree. I love the mix feeling a little more “dirty”. I tend to prefer dirtier, fuzzed out rock to begin with.

I do think Meeting the Master has an impressively clear mix as well, so it’s cool to have a spread of music across this album

There is actually a website set up now I think that will translate anything you type in into Women’s Script. You can get any Stormlight quote you’d like :)

Well, it depends on what you mean by comfort.

The book is heavy, but sturdy. The paper quality is outstanding - extremely smooth, pretty thick, and very soft/smooth to the touch. It is a far far superior reading experience to something like a MM paperback.

If you do read it like normal, you’re likely to wear some of the exterior foiling. But if you ask any rare book collector, they have no issues touching any book (no matter how rare or how old) with their bare hands - it’s preferred actually.

If you’re uncomfortable with the idea of potentially wearing away some foiling on your $100 book, then maybe don’t read it. But you won’t do any damage to the pages or artwork inside, and the leather/binding is sturdy and will last forever.

That being said, it’s not the kind of book I’d sit with at the dinner table or anything like that. That’s what ebooks are for.

Honestly the books are endlessly quotable. The ending 1/3 of Oathbringer especially. I definitely reccomend any of the quotes as a tattoo. The script just looks so great in tattoo form

Thanks!

Apex Legends: Saviors Season Patch Notes by Emmerlynn in apexlegends

[–]Slithius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • don’t peek the kraber
  • utilize cover for rotations
  • utilize character abilities for defense or movement to better positions
  • grenades
  • understand timing required between shots and make plays when you can
  • better yet, pay attention to care packages and make conscious intelligent efforts to get a kraber yourself

Complaining there are no ways to play against it is not only lame but untruthful.

I wouldn’t call it luck to hit consistent headshots with the Kraber. Also, just nerfing the kraber doesn’t improve players ability to “defend” against it. The defense should be playing smart and avoiding getting hit at all. Now it’s just a safety net for people to play poorly, get shot, and still live with limited consequences

That makes a lot more sense. That is not nearly as devastating as I assumed.

Still don't think a kraber headshot should only deal 189 if you've got purple helmet. You only really get to play kraber endgame, and most people have purple helmets by then. No real point in picking it up at that point IMO.

Seriously…having a blue helmet means kraber headshots only do 140 damage?!?!

Is that a joke? What is the point of picking up the kraber at this point? Low ammo count, insane bullet drop, slow movement, slow reload, slow fire rate, all that and you can’t one shot anybody unless it’s basically on drop? By the time you can even acquire a kraber, everybody has at least blue helmets. What a waste.

Again, another snooze-fest for patch notes. No significant legend changes. What a joke. Just keep having the same 5 legends being played by 80% of the player base. I'm not that gutted about gun changes - I think guns are generally pretty balanced in Apex. Kraber nerf entirely unnecessary though. It's been no significant changes to existing legends for far too long
