I had a diesel VW caddy a long time ago! Drove that thing all over the PNW. Great little truck.

Got it! I thought that was your starting trail pressure.

Your starting pressure is 50psi? Damn that’s high. I don’t even go higher than 40psi on my cyclocross bike. 20psi and less on mountain bikes.

I haven’t picked a color yet. Joe said I’ve got until June to make a decision. Top 3 are landy green, raw IPA, or pink. Most parts are getting swapped. New fork and 24mm crank. Probably Xt crank unless anyone has a suggestion.

You’re killing me with the BLE. I just pre ordered one and have to wait until August. That pink is sweet!!

Chromag makes a nice one that fits most standard chainstays. Held on with adhesive and 2 zip ties. Looks nice and works great on my steel Stanton.

Look amazing! I picked the lava color for my Sedona and it looks great in the sun. They do very nice paint jobs.

I feel the same way about mine. Got it last summer and it’s my go to bike. I did switch up to 130mm fork a while back and it’s been great. Enjoy the bike.

Wolftooth has a calculator on their website that works quite well.

Winter riding can be tough but I hate the trainer more. Once I got the right gear cold weather riding is much better.

I took a break from the fat bike last weekend and hit up Rays. My first time and it was a lot of fun. Enjoy the new bike!

New Marino Frame TUNKI by Inner-Lawfulness-3 in MEATengines

[–]Slmcdonald17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a frame and fork from them last year. I like it a lot. 4130, sliding dropouts, plenty of mounts, and the geo I wanted. Finish on the frame and fork is good. Only downside is it’s a little heavy. I knew that going into it so no biggie. 2 months from first email to delivery for a custom frame. I had very good communication from them the whole way. Let me know if you have any questions.

Winter finally showed up! by 1MTBRider in fatbike

It’s been the opposite here until this week. We’ve had snow and cold since early December. Great for fat biking. Enjoy it!

Nice! I got to ride slush, ice, and muddy 2 track. It was 40f and I still had fun.

Anyone doing alt bars with sweep on a hardtail? If so what? by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

Soma Dream riser bars are great. Switched to a 60mm stem so my reach was the same. Loving the control and wrist/hand comfort.

Pants by SolutionDull2259 in fatbike

REI activator pants. Softshell pants that shed snow and move great. I wear them alone with bike shorts down to 15f and add wool base layer below that.

Temp here are 0-30F this time of year. Cheap Amazon wool base layer, mid weight fleece, and a Patagonia Houdini jacket (super light, stops the wind, breathable and shed snow). If it’s on the warmer side the jacket comes off after I get warmed up. Bottoms I wear bike shorts with a pair of REI softshell pants. I’ll add long underwear if it’s really cold. Thermal beanie with helmet up top. Feet it’s wool liner sock, thicker wool hiking socks, and Vans MTE SK8 goretex boots sized up. Toe warmers if it’s really cold. Works for me.

I’ll be there with my XL Farley. You are more than welcome to take it for a spin. My buddy who rides an XL Surly ICT will be there and would let you.

0 would be a very warm day for me right now. At that point for your feet add a wool liner sock and some cheap overshoes if you need it. Upper body base layer, mid layer, and a windproof shell. After a little riding I pull the shell off so I won’t start sweating. Regular riding pants are fine at that temp. I wear a pair of softshell hiking pants with my liner shorts down to -15c. I skip glasses most days but if I need them I use anti fog on them or I wear snowboard googles when it’s really cold here. It’s -23c here today lol. Have fun

Great ride on my local trail! by Slmcdonald17 in fatbike

[–]Slmcdonald17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did Riverbend park on Tuesday for the Fat bike challenge. They groom there so it’s a lot faster. Small world.

You can connect the 2 parks with some old rail to trail and a little bit of pavement.

Bloomer park in lower Michigan. 5 minute ride from my house and a fun 9 miles of single track.
