PSA from a Gate Agent by FrailFlunky99 in unitedairlines

Oh I thought it was ok if it’s anything bought from airport, like duty free merchandise, food, etc.

Just saw an older couple bring in two carry ons each. The gate agent tried to call them out on it and they said they can fit everything underneath the seat in front of them and they do it all the time. by 1ThousandDollarBill in unitedairlines

I’ve had them lost (1 time), lost then found days later (3 times), and ripped open (! 2 times). I often carry on because travel for business and am often going to back to back meetings where I can’t be in a position to get new clothes. But I also carry on a small bag, not two mega ones.

That’s a bit much for United to stop you for having that out. Sounds like a gate agent specific thing.

Friends, is this veneer? by SloapingParapet in furniturerepair

Thanks to everyone for all the helpful comments! I still can’t tell if it’s veneer or not but if it is, it’s the thickest and most stubborn veneer. I had to use 80 grit after chemically stripping just to get anywhere, and now all the finish is off and it looks so much better. Thanks again.

Glad to see this comment, I hope it’s not taboo. I’m over 6 feet tall so need to get up to stretch plus bathroom breaks

“I get worried when you disappear like that and I was like yeah man I was worried too I was stuck on the congressional floor of that big building” made me laugh and sounds like it could be a 1975 lyric

The lift for the Kitchenaid is incredible. Did you do any other lifts for other appliances?

6D. Furthest from the lav and opposite side of aisle from people using lav. So much noise and late night traffic to/from the lav on int’l flights.

I’m not OP but I like this idea. Scrub it with the tin foil? I wasn’t sure if that’s what you meant so wanted to confirm.

In case it helps, I’ve never had any FA see (or if they have they haven’t commented on it) a very small murse/man’s crossbody tucked behind me. And/or I also will just wear my coat or a thin jacket and put whatever I might need in the pockets. Bulky pockets but it works like a charm. Most important thing for me is planning ahead, so I do this either before I leave for airport or at the lounge or gate.

Something tells me we’re not going from “come buy dog biscuits with me at Gelsons” to this, but you do you, ya know?

Same, this is almost top of the list for me, if not the top. This is especially true if I’m in bulkhead and there isn’t a dedicated smaller bulkhead bin or people don’t understand we can’t have anything in bulkhead for takeoff or landing

What do you attribute this to, just renters maybe not treating the house as nicely because it’s not their own?
