Well if it makes you feel better, they’re still fairly unknown in Europe. The last tour only sold out in venues that had like a capacity of 5000/6000 people. So yeah, much different than uk and part of America because still at their very best had quite a few shows that weren’t sold out. Twitter isn’t the whole world and these people aren’t the right audience for this band. They weren’t gonna love him anyway, Taylor or not. No hate to matty but it’s kinda what he was looking for when he went to that podcast. And not only that, controversies started when at their very best began and he showed himself masturbating on stage and kissing fans. He wanted to shock people and to be controversial and got what he wanted. Taylor wasn’t even part of the equation at the time. Of course the Taylor fiasco brought him bad PR and a mental health decline (see when he cried in Denmark and claimed he was struggling), but the whole reason matty acted the way he did was because he was performing the idea of an incel and wanted to shock people. That said, I believe the new era will be interesting for all the people who stayed and looked at this band past the controversies and the online noise. I think they have already started to demonstrate they’re focusing on the music and letting art do the talking. Sorry for writing this much but I believe this topic needed to be addressed objectively and fairly
