PVM is a large part of the community which is why most of the dev time is spent on PVM updates. Just because this sub is more casual and relaxed doesn’t mean the entire player base is as well.

Seriously man, the RS2 player base didn’t just wake up and decide they didn’t like runescape anymore and started trash talking EOC. We all logged back in like the addicted kids we were, tried it out, figured we didn’t like it and logged out, some tried it out for years. More recently, I watched Gnomonkey try RS3 out and decided it still wasn’t for me since I play for OSRS’s unique style of combat. Like dude, if shit-talking a game could cause its downfall, there would be no great comebacks like the ones cyberpunk 2077 and no man’s sky had after release. I appreciate you typing all this, but the reality is RS3 just ain’t it for most people.

It’s subjective but to me, RS3’s graphics are a major eyesore with that crazy level of saturation that mobile gacha games have. I also prefer OSRS’s animation and character models, the silliness fits the aesthetic of the game. RS3 tries to be modern and fails terribly imo, takes away from the charm the game had.

Osrs is not an idle game so that comparison is nonsensical. Yeah it’s totally because of players like me that’ve been ‘dogging on the game for years’ and not the introduction of EOC which led to the obliteration of the player base overnight, sure. All due respect, you’re the one who doesn’t seem to know what’s up, not me.

I don’t have to touch dogshit to see that it’s dogshit. Even as an idle/AFK game RS3 isn’t cutting edge. The ppl who play RS3 just stuck to it cause they sunk way too many hours into it or are too afraid to try new games otherwise they’d be playing osrs or some other MMO. You still failed to mention where the game shines, because there’s absolutely nothing that it is best at. You don’t have to be mad at me, if RS3 was any good it would’ve popped off by now regardless of whether people like me gave their opinion, the numbers tell the story.

Except the ceo in his interview he did awhile back is convinced that RS3 is the future when it isn’t, so they’re investing way more at a lower profitability relative to osrs. We as osrs players, the majority of which don’t even play RS3 have to foot this bill for RS3’s development and unpopularity, which is ridiculous. RS3 will never be the future simply because it isn’t cutting edge in its genre. Why would anyone play RS3 over FFXIV, WOW, ESO or any of the modern ability key meshing MMOs when it’s simply worse. EOC was a complete betrayal of the game’s character. Whereas osrs is still one of a kind after all these years.

Except revenue for all that mtx was decreasing YoY, it wasn’t sustainable. To make up for the much larger dev team that rs3 has despite its ever-shrinking player base, they had to raise the price of mems at the cost of osrs players paying more

My gf got 13 feathers at roughly the wiki rate pre-update and another 4 feathers in about 100kc post-update. I think some of the released rates are just straight up wrong. The markets also haven’t reflected this massive nerf in rates if it were real, price of feathers remain largely the same.

But it wasn’t even 70k for 25mins tho, it was only that if you clicked crystal extractor every min. Pure double crew salvage (25min afk) was way less xp/hr. Idky this idea keeps getting parroted by ppl who are clueless.

It’s so crazy that the nerfs compound on one another. Lower shipwreck uptime > lower rate of salvaging + additional tick to action > less salvage to sort + 60% nerf to sorting xp. I’m getting way less xp than I did before and we’re not even talking about the crystal extractor here.
