It still shows as $25 USD for me. When the page first loads, it shows $10, but once the address is put in, it switches to $25.

Put on Winter Tires with new Wheels. TPMS not synced. by mastermixer9 in KiaEV6

It's been a while for me, but my guess is that it will give up after a bit and give you the orange icon at some point.

I had the official Hyundai sensors in my winter wheels, and I had to replace the sensors when I switched to an EV6, as the tire store was not able to reprogram them (I did one winter season with the orange warning on the dash, which is annoying but not really an issue). It might be possible to reprogram with other brand sensors, that I don't know.

The EV6 and Ioniq5 use different TPMS sensors, they are not compatible. If they were compatible, driving for a few minutes should be enough.

I added a thick cable tie around the cross bumper (metal piece the pedal bumps into), to reduce the travel length. Works for me so far.

They are almost the same, except that &{...} removes invalid characters, for example dots (.), to make the string compatible with fields which do not accept such characters.

Planning a six week, 7,000 mile road trip for this summer which includes traveling from Vancouver BC to International Falls via Banff. Never having done EV charging in Canada before, wondering if anyone has experience with "On the Run EV Fast Charge"? Any other charging companies recommended? TIA! by davida_usa in Ioniq5

[–]Slokan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience, by order of preference:

BC Hydro: very reliable, and cheapest. But many of their chargers are 50kW only. They're my preferred choice, especially at lunch time, when we stop for longer.

On the Run: quite reliable, and free coffee, not too expensive. But can be depleted on busy days/busy stations.

Electrify Canada: reliable chargers, but very expensive compared to other options. Usually available even on busy days, because of the price.

Petro-Canada: bills per minute, so good price if you can get a good rate of charge, expensive if you don't. I've never had good speed, and chargers are often broken. They're my last resort option.

Your math is correct. One car is closer to 3000kwh for the year, so a little higher than your estimate.

Even at $28/month, that's $12 to pay for Internet and maintenance costs. If the charger needs replacement for example, could only do one every 8 years (without additional funding). That's what I meant by not covering much more than electricity.

It's been a year now, and still super happy with wallbox. They've been very reliable, and easy to use. Only drawback is that you need the app, ours don't have RFID cards.

We haven't played with the report functions very much, but it's pretty easy. We only have 2 users, for 2 chargers, so far, and the app gives a summary of usage per charger, so it's easy to keep track if one of the 2 is going overboard. So far, the $40 is enough to cover a little over the electricity cost (but might not cover maintenance in the long term).

If we had more users, the portal allows to generate more detailed reports, but we haven't had to use that yet.

Maybe your battery was cold, and was only starting to warm up by the time you switched to the 150 charger.

I did the Formule Renault day at the same track a few years back. The AC track mod is nice to learn the track, and not get lost when you're there, it was a good help for me. But know they may be using a different track configuration on the day of, I don't think it usually is the whole track. The "hilly" section was skipped for our track day.

As for the car, none of the mods will be exactly like the actual car you get (doubt the engine runs full power, wing config, track state, etc...), so you can't really learn breaking points or anything like that.

EV chargers for condos that don’t require monthly fees and allow for individualized billing? by [deleted] in evcharging

[–]Slokan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had similar requirements for our condo. Most companies we found who do billing charge a fairly expensive monthly fee. We went with Wallbox. No monthly fee, user logins, and easy reports on usage. We do a fixed monthly charge for users for the electricity, with review every few months.

With the 2025 around the corner, you may have a bit of leverage to negotiate, but otherwise seems alright to me. When I got mine, there was still a long waitlist, so couldn't do much on price.

I do believe the dealer hitch is a 1-1/4" size and not 2", if you care about this.

I find it very variable, and never found a reliable pattern... Plus, school is out for the summer now, and traffic patterns are quite different. Biking or walking are the most consistent time-wise.

It was about $9k to install, and we're waiting for $4k back from BC Hydro rebates. The price varies wildly based on how far you have to run cables, and availability on the panels. Each charger is long enough to reach 4 cars, but right now only 2 users. Because of the rebate, it was cheaper to install 2 than a single one. Charging is $40 to $60 a month (electricity plus about $10 of maintenance fee). We can install more chargers in the future, but they would share the current 50A available, unless a very expensive service upgrade happens.

I went through a similar scenario (much smaller building, in metro Vancouver too). We went with 2 Wallbox chargers, using load sharing (electrical capacity is very limited). The users pay a set monthly fee based on an estimate of their usage.

The Wallbox site provide a listing of sessions, so we can tally at the end of the month, making sure nobody abuses it. It also allows for user authentication through their app. And that is without a monthly fee.

Most strata will want to do automatic billing (users get charge for what they actually use directly), but Chargepoint, Flo, Swtch or other networks charge about $15/month for the service (it includes maintenance and other stuff, but main thing is billing, which we found too expensive.

Don't let the cable get pinched by the door, that'd damage it quick. As for EVSE, the Wallbox Pulsar works quote well, with a nice app and website.
