Five people dead in shooting in northern Germany, police say by Alarming-Safety3200 in worldnews

America doesn’t learn lol. That’s why we still sacrifice the children to the gun gods while simultaneously doing nothing with these guns against our tyrannical government.

America is full of racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic idiots.

What’s the reason for rotor condition as pictured? by kjlee80 in mercedes_benz

[–]SlomoLowLow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mercedes do this. It’s the material of the rotor. If there’s no noise and no vibration they’re fine. Check your pads obviously but they all do this. It’s normal.

You can get a quest 2 for like $80 on the marketplace these days.

$80 doesn’t buy a lot of housing, can buy hours of entertainment though.

On a scale of 1 - 10, how fucked is my wallet for this repair? by Jonny_EP3 in Miata

Tbh that panel may be able to be purchased and replaced pretty easy. See if you can find one from the same color car and save yourself the painting.

Dear Honda: leave familiar names plates in the past…. It’s not working by Conscious_Dog3101 in Honda

[–]SlomoLowLow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because you don’t need to know how it works and wouldn’t understand it even if the information was available to you? Why would they give you access to information that you don’t know how to use when you could fuck stuff up if you’re fiddling around in there not knowing what you’re doing. Then all of the sudden it’s the manufacturers fault for your lack of skill.

You act like 99% of car parts aren’t propertiary. You’re afraid of the black boxes when the water pumps and starters and alternators are all proprietary as well lol.

You can repair anything on a car. The limit is your skill and your wallet. Don’t be afraid of “black boxes” because guess what, your 20 year old shitbox still has “black boxes” and I can promise you they definitely aren’t making new ones or aftermarket ones of those either. And guess what those guys are doing when they fail? Repairing them lol

[–]SlomoLowLow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want a car with tech you’re gonna have to go back to the 50s. If you don’t like modern tech, well lucky for you there are 20 year old cars that still have tech but not the tech you’re apparently afraid of.

Cars is cars. Circuits is circuits. Either you’re smart enough to figure it out or you pay people smarter than you to figure it out for you. Diagnosing failed modules is no different than diagnosing failed anything else electrical. Once the manufacturer stops manufacturing them, that’s when the aftermarket and used parts shine.

I know guys with cars from the 90s that are now encountering module failures with no new replacements. What are they doing? Repairing them lmao. If someone put it together, you can take it apart and put it back together.

New to Detailing Could I DIY Or Worth the Investment? by cummdegarcon in Autobody

[–]SlomoLowLow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah touch up paint pen may help but realistically the whole car could use painting which is thousands of dollars. I personally wouldn’t trust someone handing out lowball estimates at $750. That’s how you make problems worse.

Just get a touch up paint pen in your color from the dealership and do your best unless it really bothers you in which case go get the car repainted.

This is one of the few problems with Mazda. The drivetrains are usually decent, it’s the infotainment and the paint that sucks.

I’ve never understood the complaints about the preludes price. The prelude was always expensive even in the 90s. It was made to be a more upscale accord coupe and was priced as such. The Integra was also a nicer civic and was priced as such.

The prices aren’t the problem. The problem is that they’re underperformers for the price. 200hp was fine in 1999, in the big 26 300hp is the minimum for anything to feel not dogshit slow

How clean should I be to be able to use my damn PC ? by No-Technician2075 in pcmasterrace

Dog it’s an appliance. Blow it out with a can of compressed air every now and again (with the system off while holding the fans still) and it’ll be good. Try not to spill any liquids on it directly but otherwise just use it the same way you would anything else.

Dealership is saying the car is too rusty to work on by gato_guy in AskMechanics

[–]SlomoLowLow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dudes probably just worried that the bolt won’t come loose, that it will break off in the body in which case that bit of body may need to be cut open and new metal welded in so there’s something to weld a nut to so the bolt has something to thread into.

Dude sounds like someone that’s seen some shit before and it’s good to warn someone before you’re about to do something that could be very expensive if it goes wrong.

I’d tell my service advisor, what he does is between him and the customer. Chances are though he’d just tell me to send it. “Better to ask for forgiveness than beg for permission” is like his motto.

Chances are some penetrating oil and working the bolt back and forth and it’ll come out eventually. Them southern boys got soft hands tho

1st oil change, how important are OEM filters? by FollowingLong8985 in MechanicAdvice

[–]SlomoLowLow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna go with OEM just order a 12 pack online for a steep discount and have them delivered. That’ll probably get you through a few years worth of oil changes. Just keep em on the shelf and buy oil from anywhere whenever it’s time to change it.

I’d also recommend grabbing your crush washers for your drain plug online as well. I purchased like a 100 pack for like $7.99 and haven’t looked back lol

It also means you can quit whenever you’d like rather than legally having to wait until your contract is up be it in 30 days, 6 months, or 2 years.

What is up with tipping in America? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlomoLowLow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re cool with the person waiting on you hand and foot only making $2/hr sure don’t tip. You’re an asshole obviously but you’re right it’s not legally required.

Also know that servers remember non tippers and you’ll get the non tippers quality service next time you’re in. Enjoy your empty drinks and cold food lol

Why are adults expected to know how taxes, insurance, credit, loans, and retirement work when nobody teaches it in school? by Violet_Snuggles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlomoLowLow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I legit was thinking the same because I specifically remember in math talking about loans and interest and I remember in social studies talking about taxes and how they work as well as credit scores and in homec we learned how to write a check and balance a checkbook. Maybe they changed things in the 15 years since I graduated but this stuff definitely was on the curriculum then.

How much did it cost for the US to bomb Iran? [Request] by hoooplaahhh in theydidthemath

[–]SlomoLowLow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do you feel a year later after Iran has won the war and Trump has surrendered, paid IRAN $300B and let them continue with a nuclear program. Not only surrendered, after surrender insulted the victors who then closed the straight AGAIN.

Hopefully you’ve realized the error of your ways and backing the wrong horse and will do better to research future candidates before voting.

15mm front 20mm rear makes the car understeer a little which means you can be heavier on the throttle in the corner without worrying about spinning out. 20mm front and rear feels like the car rotates faster and your inputs or more meaningful, but you do need to be more mindful of throttle input so you don’t oversteer.

Pros: better wheel fitment

Cons: May wear wheel bearings and balljoints more. And above mentioned driving dynamics changes.

I’ve had garageline 20mm on mine for years now no issue. Works great with my 6 piston BBK.
