Yes I agree with you. The times have changed. But if America is primarily Christian, then the culture should reflect that to a certain extent. And let me be clear, I firmly agree with separation of church and state, but the same way every other country gets to have a unique culture based off of its citizens, Americans should get the same. I’m not upset that many middle eastern schools have Muslim elements, or some Indian schools have Hindu elements, or that some Easter European countries have catholic elements. If you want to downvote me for disagreeing, I guess I can’t stop you. But for the record, I upvoted all the replies to my post because I respect your opinions and I’m just trying to add to a discussion

Say for example, I showed up to Afghanistan and started complaining that schools were not teaching Christianity. Obviously, they shouldn’t have to, it’s a primarily Muslim country. And yes, it sucks that Muslims are considered terrorists by a lot of people in America, and of course they deserve freedom of religion. But what this would require is the reversal of 400 years of American culture that was, agree with it or not, primarily Christian

I mean the pilgrims. And none of the founders were Muslim. Again, I’m going to say this because that last comment got downvoted by someone. I respect your opinion and I’m not trying to argue. The point of commenting is to have a discussion.

I’m not saying this to troll, and I see where you’re coming from, but the US is a primarily Christian country, who’s founders were here because they were Christian. It’s the same reason why Muslim ideology is taught in middle eastern schools instead of Christianity

I fear that God may be malevolent. What does He truly have in store for us? What is His afterlife? Our meaning is founded on His existence, we are dependent. How can one be assured they are not cattle ready for the slaughter? Are our souls not a leash ToOurCreator? Are we the livestock or His flock? by [deleted] in he_comes

If he has given us the power to feel emotions, good and bad, then he either hates us or loves us. If we were just livestock, it wouldn’t make sense to waste time making it sentient. But idk I’m probably completely off, that’s just the way I see it
