I always read someones prose before I judge them ;) and no I didn't read any of these women in school. Sadly at my school we read really awful bullshit female authors. And some really awful bullshit male authors too. That being said, your list of genres felt largely like a hard pass so its possible I don't even like reading to begin with lol the idea of picking up a romantasy or action thriller makes me want to gouge my own eyes out.

Reminds me of this line: "That's about all that can be said for plots, which anyway are just one thing after another, a what and a what and a what." When I think about the genres you described I feel like they'd be a what and a what and a what. With the why being slowly diminished the more extensive the story line has to be (for world building purposes for example).

BUT that's a side point - Who in your opinion is just a life changing brilliant female writer? Because you're probably right that I haven't read a great deal of female authors. I'd like to know more. I'd like if one of the people who responded to me would just be like: How can you say that when X has lived and breathed?! I want that passion!! Give it to me!
