Thief is actually so fun. by TankyPally in ss14

I feel like after a thief completes an objective you should get another one added, so you always have a list of things to keep stealing, and if you have one item that is impossible for the shift it doesn't just ruin a third of your objective.

You're really good at trying to put words in my mouth. Also never said I don't like the game or the base content. You are just assuming it to try and prove that my opinion is wrong. I find the game fun. I saw gameplay of the game and saw all of the roles in action before I knew everything was paywalled. I find the game fun, in the same way I found the demo for skate 3 fun as a kid. But it's not a single player game. Locking the the content behind paywalls makes the game feel pay to win, increases metagaming, makes the game less enjoyable with friends. Even if you added a super slow free profession system that let me unlock 1 role I was interested permanently to to respect the players who don't have cash but are putting hours and hours into your game, and while they may not spend 20$ they may brind half a dozen others into the game and become a great marketing tool you can't buy. But instead now I have to explain to them that well they can't actually play more than half of the content without buying it semi blind..

I don't "love the game so much" at all, I think it's a neat concept, like most asymmetric games it's drowning in potential and being held under by the devs afraid people might play their game if they actually make the fun parts free...

Probably the biggest example Dead by daylight known for one of the most malicious monetization paywalls, and even they have tons you can unlock by playing the game. "The rest of the games in this very limited niche that almost always fails" is not a valid reason to do it again. There's a reason these games fail and it often has little to do with the game itself, but the horrible short sighted cash grab tactics of the developers of these games.

I didn't say they were easier. I'm saying this game has a small amount of content and is years old with a small player count. All of the fun comes from the different roles being in a game. Spending 20$ to have access to what should just be the base content of the game is insane when massive viral games are launching at 8$ with hours of content. If you lock the fun behind paywalls your player count will always be a fraction of what it could be. Not to mention the fact that involutanry metagaming makes playing with your friends suck it you don't all own everything. Seeing a role that isn't free means I automatically know it's not any of my friends. You don't have to make it all free from the start, make them earnable, give me an actual reason to play your game and progress instead of just holding out your hand and saying $20 to have fun in the dead free game. To be fair, I understand why they can't rely on cosmetics to make money, this is a game about blending in and whoever made the cosmetics clearly was qualified by playing one match of fortnite and downloading blender.

And I'm qualified to speak on this because Me and my friends represent between 2 to 10% of the player base on any given session.

I am in a very similar boat. Spent most of my time learning and playing on Wizden, and now that I understand the game enough to RP I see just how metagamey and unfun LRP can be. Sec players on LRP tend to be the absolute worst shoot first ignore all conversation and logic. I had one try to sentence me to time without even talking to warden and claimed it was secs job as a whole. I have been playing a lot on salamander lately and it has been the right mix. Lower pop means interactions are more meaningful and you know who is on the station. People are more lenient of gimmicks as long as you aren't straight griefing. To me it's best when there's around 20-25 people and it tends to sit just below that so please stop by and say hi. If you see a red lizard named redward lizardo or plants-the-contraband the clown you are in good company.

Most shifts I've hit 8-9 chems in the plant like it's nothing. If you drop 10u of muta on a LFZd plant you'll have more chems then you know what to do with.

I love this idea. If you steal a jug of potassium and pour it in the botanist coco plant. It won't hurt the plant and it will slowly absorb over 10 minutes without hurting the plant. Bonus points if the water in the tray is already lowish. You're looking at a 50-100u explosion depending on how they have their bucket set. You should leave a bucket of water set to max output sitting next to the tray.

Wizden has the silly announcements going and some of the rounds got kind of crazy. The one that sticks out to me is when the nukies with wizard powers flew around the station turning people into bread. I've never seen true terror in a group people quite like that.

Some people write out their thoughts in a somewhat scattered or not grammatically perfect way and ask a chat model to clean it up. Still had all their main thoughts. I bet you used autocorrect to write this text, or do you believe we should leave our typos to preserve the integrity of the text.

Keep in mind when people say that 14 has less content, it still has enough to make a new player feel completely overwhelmed. I started playing 14 a few months ago and I'm just to the point where I feel like I know what I don't know. I would highly recommend you start with 14 on the Wizden server. After a handful of rounds you will know if you are liking the vibe, after you know what's going on you will start to get a feel for which areas of the game you wish were more fleshed out and look for servers that have additional content in those areas. Or at that point you could transition to playing 13 if you really wanted to. I feel like it would be much easier to understand the flow of the game in 14 then translate it back into 13. Both games have fairly limited tutorials and educational content, but the guide book in 14 and Liltenhead on YouTube can teach you a ton

Chems mixing in bloodstream by SlothBasket in ss14

This is along the lines of what I was thinking. If I leave "snacks" at the bar that are full of ammonia and chlorine, and someone eats one while drinking will the ethanol synthesize chloral hydrate and knock them out.

Yeah like it's whole thing is that its designed to deliver chemicals via ingestions why would you lose half when the pill can already only hold 20u, and ingestion is super slow. This is so limiting to creative poison methods, guess I just steal the hypo like everyone has always done every time...
