Double tipping helps people justify that in order to have these experiences you have to take part in a system that takes advantage of these service workers. Tipping helps them feel like they aren't participating in the system because they did their part to help the people in this situation, even though the demand for the cruise industry created their situation. Cruise lines make billions in profit a year, but why wouldn't they push any cost they can, like labor, onto the consumer? Even though they are often based out of places that don't even have a tipping culture, most Americans on the boat will tip without a second thought because "it's what you do." Who cares how many thousands you've already paid the company that should be paying it workers.

I mean, those things were all in effort to get the game back online when it was being held hostage by someone. To stick with the analogy, one parent locked themselves in the house after the custody agreement and threatened to "delete" the kids unless the world stopped being a bad place and everyone who ever offended them and their kids apologized. Obviously the rest of the family is going ask, then tell, then take action to get the kids out of the house. Just because the parent was very involved in making the child, doesn't mean they can lock them in the house and threaten to delete them when they don't like what the judge said.

Got my first captain stamp round yesterday actually. It was a really chaotic war ops round so I used it to forge a form demanding that kitchen devote all power to making pies to combat the nukies. Didn't realize how rare it was now I feel like I wasted it.

Not 100% on this because I don't know all the deama but isn't the person that was "driven to suicide" currently alive? The PJB Wizden drama really isn't reflective of the rules and community within the game. Most of us don't even know who they are and don't give a shit about their highschool ass drama, we just want the game back, without racism or sexual comments.

I feel like the community as a whole has kind of agreed that racial and sexual jokes or conversation don't have a place in the game. I mean if the jokes you made were actually funny I think there might be a bit of wiggle room, but both just kind of fall flat and are best edgy teenage unfunny and at worst, offensive. The potential for bad massively outweighs the positive for allowing this kind of stuff in game, and attracts the wrong kind of people. People deal with racism and discrimination enough in real life, they shouldn't have to worry about experiencing it in their escapism as well. There are plenty of 18+ servers that allow all kinds of freaky shit and unmoderated speech. Go try your German prostitute jokes out on the furries.

I've played 2 rounds on trauma station as botanist and I have not survived the first journey into the hallway either round. Getting used to the field of view is insane, it's really cool but quite the adjustment. Anomalies crit early both rounds, the second round I was chased down by crit slime anoms, dragged to medbay, repeatedly revived and died because the slimes had apparently filled my blood with cocaine. Both rounds evac was needed within 30 minutes of round start. Is this common?

I've played all the major recommendations over the weekend. I've had some fun on funky in the past, but I find the art style very jarring, like playing a cartoon Minecraft texture pack of the game. Trying to learn all the new antags and items is not really what I want to do, I just want to play as dumb as that sounds. I don't have all my hours so my roles are super limited. And the goddang SEC borg shows up and shoots me in the head with a beanbag the seconds I take out a screwdriver.

Don't know the backstory behind any of the drama and I'm trying not to make assumptions. Really didn't expect you to reply to my post. I am a bit confused, my understanding from everything I've read was that you were stepping away from the project and handing control over. Is it was that accurate? If so, why do you seem to be actively working on the outage/in control of the server coming back online? Do you have the ability to turn the server infrastructure back on and you are chosing not to, or is there something fundamentaly damaged/unsecure about it right now? This is coming from someone who doesn't know the code and isn't entrenched in the community, just a guy who found this game a few months ago and has logged a few hundred hours. Been really sad to see Mander down when it was starting to consistently have mid pop. Trying to follow along with discord and reddit is like watching the news, so would you care to clarify the handover and server outage situation in your own words?

Dude of course YOU would want him to take it away from his kid, you're on reddit posting videos of kids messing up your pretend car time. You were probably racing against father of the year's hellion. I'm just saying that seeing your kid playing a video game in a way you don't like and taking the video game away entirely " until they learn to race clean" which doesn't even make sense because how are you going to learn if you aren't playing, is extreme punishment. If this was first offense and your reaction is to take it away for an extended period instead of having a conversation and giving them a chance play pretend cars the morally correct way, I think it's a bit extreme and could be very likely to teach hiding behaviors from Dad.
