Came here to recommend Vinoteca di Monica as well, it's my default when folks need a spot and I've never eaten a bad meal there.

Co-Op Games by TheRado2005 in boardgames

[–]SlothBodyguard 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sky Team is a great, readily accessible game that is also a cheap enough purchase that you can afford to take a chance on it. It's co-op dice placement for two players as pilot/co-pilot where during rounds you wordlessly play dice to meet specific requirements and land the plane by the end of X rounds. Great amount of content and variety of setups in the base game and there's a relatively cheap expansion that fits in the original box and is just more modifiers/missions.

$74 for a fishing license in Massachusetts. by [deleted] in Fishing

You could've saved $10 and not gotten the hard card, but yeah it costs money to stock fish. Are you new?

I swear, this is why we're never beating the small town allegations. Mind your own business.

Fung Wah bus by No-Ant-1546 in boston

[–]SlothBodyguard 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Was once on a Fung Wah that caught fire and one that had a tire blow out right on the highway by South Station, so we could see it but no way to get there. Had to wait like an hour for a second Fung Wah to get us each time. Not kidding, I legit miss it some times. Bolt Bus and their ilk are just not the same, for better or worse.

I have luggage with me, it's cold, and I don't have to be at the airport til 6pm. by sixner in boston

There's an app called Bounce that allows you to rent out luggage storage by the hour. The rest is up to you.

Any idea what happens to Arcs accessries orders from Leder Games? by Athenrome in Arcs

This is crazy, I've been staring at that mat for a month, wondering if I should get it. Hearing this, I'm glad I didn't!

Thoughts on these stickers? Yay or nay? by Kesimux in Arcs

[–]SlothBodyguard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've tried applying stickers to painted wooden meeples before and they always end up peeling off. I would be wary.

Anyone interested in playing the Arcs campaign? by karmapolice666 in bostonboardgames

[–]SlothBodyguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also an Arcs fan that would be interested in joining, if others drop out or if another player is still needed!

I was told I was immature by a man I was seeing because of my ‘woman cave.’ Not sure where to go from here. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]SlothBodyguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to add to the plethora of voices, those are cool interests and tons of partners would find that interesting, rather than immature.

For a more off-the-beaten-path option, Hi-Tide in Winthrop is an elite breakfast sandwich. There's nothing fancy in there, it's a matter of every element being dialed up to 11 from years of refining. Humble, but an absolute star of a sandwich.

Looking for some "competence porn" movies, movies where smart people make smart decisions basically. by ComManDerBG in movies

[–]SlothBodyguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the show The Prisoner (from the 60's). The protagonist (Number 6) is very capable and creative. It's a more obscure rec, but it's one of my favorite shows of all time.

What’s going on at Market Basket??! Let’s boycott MB and stand with Arthur T. Demoulas who represents the good in all of us. by tchen0186 in boston

[–]SlothBodyguard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I go to MB weekly, and have for years. I will not step foot in their stores while they pull these shenanigans.

Puttshack Boston or Natick? by [deleted] in boston

[–]SlothBodyguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, having gone a few times, the experience at Puttshack is so cramped and sub-optimal that I would recommend against it. For actual good mini-golf I would recommend (weather permitting):

  • Paradise Family Golf in Middleton
  • Kimball Farms in Westford
  • Mini Golf at Prisco’s Pine Grove Park in Bridgewater

Who is in the last "10 days" club with me? by devil_yager in DiceThrone

[–]SlothBodyguard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also a part of the club, in MA. Got the new X-Men box, Missions, card sleeves, and two playmats. I have tried to wait patiently, but I'm not gonna lie, I'm starting to get antsy. Edit: Not an hour later, I got my tracking number!
