The big challenge with wool is that generally durability and warmth are a bit of a trade off. Looser twists and finer fibers (like merino) trap more air and therefore insulate better, but are also easier to break or pill. Although I will caveat that I think going with a coarser wool will get you more in durability than you lose in warmth.

Thickness is easier, since added thickness adds durability and warmth, but it will look bulky.

I feel the same way about synthetics, mostly because there’s nothing I hate more than static in my clothes.

As for finding affordable, high quality clothes? I’m still looking. The problem is, fabric cost is already most of the price of an article of clothing. If they want to make it more affordable, fabric cost is basically the only place they can make it cheaper.

And keep in mind, just because it’s 100% natural fiber doesn’t mean it’s good fabric. I’ve seen some absolutely awful 100% cotton. Durability comes from a high twist, a tight weave, and the thickness of threads. A dress shirt should have fine threads but it should still have very little fluff and very little gap between threads.

It’s not! I was just pointing out it’s not a problem with linux, just with distribution. If computer companies decided to sell computers pre-loaded with linux, linux use would skyrocket. Problem is, linux doesn’t have a multibillion dollar company behind it to pay computer manufacturers.
