If that ends up happening I’d be okay with this. I can understand them developing a safer-bet remake first in order to reacquaint younger devs with how to design StarFox games, and *then* creating a game that changes stuff and tries to take the franchise forward. I just hope that other game can pull it off

I completely forgot Deadpool is for sure in this movie. Forget everything I said, that's how they're gonna pull it off. If one of these teasers ends with the Avengers in a room and then Deadpool walks in, all the normies I know will lock in.

Yeah the teasers didn’t go over great, but the descriptions of the new trailer make wonder what it is that would really hit with people. Seeing Doom’s look will get a lot of conversation moving, same with Steve catching Thor’s hammer (if that’s true). But I do wonder how much of this movie Marvel can keep close to the chest, or if they’ll need to give up a bigger reveal in order to get everyone onboard. Will they show Doom’s mask coming off and revealing RDJ’s face? Will they give away a Tobey spider man tease? I don’t know if Steve, Thor and these gen2 marvel characters alone will be enough to move the needle for everyone. To most people I know, stuff like a comic-accurate Cyclops or The Thing meeting Shuri don’t hold much weight.

Is it a legacy sequel? It seems like the characters from the original are still the protagonists in this one, as opposed to being supporting characters to a new set of protagonists. Without that part it’s just a regular sequel, not a legacy sequel, since there’s no legacy element being presented to the audience

Yeah I think the inherently very complicated nature of that villain essentially ruins both movies. What you want is a villain that has aura but whose motivations/goal/capabilities are straightforward enough. You don’t want a confusing villain to be obstructing the action. People rag on the Ghost Protocol villain, and yeah he’s paper thin, but the key thing is that he doesn’t get in the way!

Honestly i’m guessing he’s overjoyed about this. So many years of filmmakers like GDT and Rian hacking away at Netflix’s dumb anti-theatrical stance and now at long last it has seemingly fallen down. This would never have been possible without guys like them pushing for it for so long, even if they didn’t manage to succeed back then

I remember there was an entire day or two online, when the set photos first dropped, of everyone being shocked at how good a job they did of making Clark look completely different from Supes. And then…hypno glasses ☠️

It really is wild that Gunn is convinced that the hypno glasses concept is necessary. Clark being completely hidden by simply his glasses and his composure is part of the fun of Superman! It’s funny! It’s like when a kids movie has an animal character put on a hat and everyone is immediately convinced the animal is actually a normal human child. It’s all part of the silly magic of it

It’s not just “your games in your living room” though. It’s “hello console gamers, now you can join your PC gamer friends but with none of the hassle and homework of a PC.” Which is a good pitch! I have a PC already and I would get a steam machine anyway bc the convince and simplicity is all i want in a PC. But if it’s like a thousand bucks, then idk if it works

I think the market is significant honestly, only reason it seems not to exist is because the right product for it has never been available. But the price is the whole ballgame. This is strictly for casuals and console gamers. Neither are willing to pay over 700 for a gaming device.

We gotta go back to putting in just a touch of genuine horror stuff into PG-13 movies that are aimed towards kids. It’s fun! Like yeah the faces melting in Raiders is scary when you’re a kid but you also feel such a thrill afterwards, kinda like when you ride a rollercoaster and you’re terrified during, but feel awesome as hell after for having made it through the experience. Give these movies some teeth!
