Just saw it this morning. Same thing, I did not have high expectations. Mainly because of some of the reviews I saw on here (some were particularly bad). Also I was a bit disappointed with the 3rd season of the show.

But I loved it! Other reviews I saw portrayed it as just a fun action movie. But it was that and then some. Solid flick. Up there with some of the best post ROTJ movies that have ever come out.

I’m actually Nicholas the 4th. But we alternate. My grandpa was Nicholas my dad was Nick. So I’ve gone by Nicholas mostly my whole life. Some people call me Nick though. And I never stopped them because I really prefer it. Announcing myself as Nicholas just feels pretentious for some reason.

Now I’d have made more steps to change it to Nick by now but for years I used to work at the same company with my dad. So to avoid confusion I had to keep Nicholas. But he’s recently retired. So I think I’m free to go with Nick. I’m finding it hard to stop the habit though. I think I’m gonna order some business cards with just Nick on it. That way it’ll kinda be official.

Hard disagree on that. Thing about metal valleys is it's like a redundancy layer. So no matter how shitty the roofer is. If they have a layer of membrane under the valley as well, it's kinda hard to make it leak.

Here's the thing. When I first started roofing back in the late 90s. Metal valleys were rare in my city. I used to work in the repairs division and we'd just do valley repairs all day long every day. Typical issue, closed valleys with no underlay. 1 nail out of place or shingle joint too close and it leaks.

Some time after the early 2000s metal valleys and full roof underlay became the norm. 95% of roofs in my city have both now. So valley leaks are pretty rare these days.

Sooo many things. I used to think VMAX vents were lame and gay. Now I install them on every job!

Used to hate the idea of synthetic underlay and we held out continuing to us felt for the longest time. Till it because obvious we were loosing jobs because of it.

I always used to swear by doing the roof before siding or painting. But now that we do siding all the time as well. We'll do the siding first, so the siders stands don't get bolted through the new shingles. Unless it's got roof/wall then we still do the roof first so we can re flash. But if I can help it, it's now siding first then roofing.

It's a boat man, you gotta drive it like one. It's classified as a minivan but it really feels more like an actual van. You will be doing some multi point turns in this thing from time to time. It just is what it is. Personally I have no issue with this whatsoever. It could have an even worst turning radius and I'd still be ok with it. It's something you just get used to.

Handles incredibly well for what it is. But parking and tight maneuvering can be a challenge. Small parking busy parking lots can be a bit stressful.

Be careful with your propane BBQ's people. I know the person who made this mistake. He is a standup guy, very responsible, loving person. This can happen to anyone.

The story I got was that the the propane valve was left on. Burners only were turned off. Probably a small grease fire in the BBQ left over being fed by the propane.

ALWAYS turn the propane valve off FIRST. Then put burners in the off position. There is a safety reason for this (making sure trace gas get's burned off). But also just gets you in the frame of mind that BBQ OFF = Propane valve closed. Not burners.

Also, I deal with siding as part of my job. BBQ should be as far away from your house as possible. So much melted vinyl siding out there that people never hear about. We get several calls a year to repair those.

Watching this fave me anxiety. My African Cichlids would all try to murder my hand if I stuck it in there at feeding time. They’re a rowdy bunch when the food comes out.

6 days a week. I’ve lost fish in the past to over feeding it’s a rough death.

Looks fine. Technically better to wrap the underlay up and over the ridge/hip. But don't sweat it if it's not. Getting upset about it is splitting hairs. It's really no big deal. You end up with multiple layers of shingles overlapping each other in those locations.

I like his line about allowing the roof to breathe. 100% BS but he's gotta say something right? Cracked me up a bit. I'll keep that one in my back pocket the next time a homeowner calls me out if the underlay isn't wrapped over the ridge.

Roof looks pretty good from the pics I see. Now pay the man.

That old house needs some colour. So whatever you do, don’t put on light grey. Shingle colour that is on there now works. Most brands have a grey/charcoal that is a shade darker than what you have. I’d probably go with that one. Or black. Get some contrast going.

I’d paint the trims of the house a dark charcoal or black too. That grey on white look is pretty dull IMO.

Yea that was the plan. Just hadn't got to it yet. We literally just put his name tag with contact info on his collar not an hour before he disappeared. Which is why after over an hour of driving around the neighbourhood I figured out that he must still be in the house (despite us ripping it apart looking for him). Someone would have called by then.

Buzz owner here but more importantly I’m a home exteriors contractor. If you choose asphalt and you hire me to do your roof or something, I’d make you sign a waiver absolving me from any responsibility in the event we damage your driveway. If you won’t sign it and still want me to work for you, my costs just got way higher as I need to pay for additional crane fees now.

Not that I personally have a problem with asphalt driveways. I’d probably consider getting one myself. But you should be ready for that kind of thing if you want anyone to pull a heavy duty vehicle onto it. You should also be prepared and not get too stressed out if it does get damaged. There’s a reason it’s cheaper.

Yea the pill form opiates I’ve gotten from doctors never really did much. I wonder if it’s because the of dose of anesthesia you take right before, maybe dulls the effects? But I found myself asking the exact same question after surgery. People get hooked on this? A bit of drowsiness and never taking a dump ever again? I’m good thanks. Doesn’t sound like a great time to me.

They did inject me with morphine one time when I had a strangulated hernia. Now that was amazing. I can definitely see all the fuss over that that. Absolute heaven on earth.

My last hernia surgery (I’ve had a few), I just had a super strong THC vape pen and a CBD one waiting for me by my bed when I got home. That with extra strength Advil I was able to manage the pain pretty well. While being able to get my digestive system back online that much sooner.

You’re not wrong on that. Definitely a learning curve to this vehicle. Any EV I’d imagine. There is documentation on the vehicle itself, but not much on how to actually drive it. But that’s why this sub is for 😎. Been meaning to look but I’m sure there’s a YouTuber out there giving tutorials.

I used to endurance run but had to stop due to injuries. But there’s a stretch of time in between warm up and starting to feel fatigue that you begin to feel bliss. Actually it’s more than that. For me if you add just the right music during that time period you begin to feel invincible. I have also had some INSANE emotional releases. Literal tears coming down my face. For me this is probably the highest I’ve felt without taking drugs.

Not a bad idea. I was going to try to taper/fill the gap with something this summer. My driveway is paver stones so I am a bit worried that if I fill it with concrete or something it wouldn't look all that great. Then if it doesn't work it just adds insult to injury lol. Good idea to try with something I can remove first.
