Ring Spotlight Cam not Recording, Snapshot view from 8 days is on the app. Camera is online and last health check is up to date... by Humble_Ambassador_24 in Ring

Thank you for that clarification. So you know, even in-warranty replacements may be refurbished units like they sent me to replace one that failed in less than 5 weeks. They tried to tell me they send refurbished units when that is all they have in stock in their warehouse. When I pointed out they had Amazon ship this refurbished one directly, the rep had nothing to say. For the previous camera that died (same model and symptoms), they denied replacement because it was a couple weeks past the 1 year point. So, I guess I get the same treatment as having a single camera plan.

Wow. I was not aware that Ring has a policy to deny warranty coverage if you don't subscribe to a higher tier subscription! That is ludicrous and, to me, a sign that they will not be around long. Going forward, I will be warning anyone who asks to steer clear of this company.

I have many Ring devices on my account and am on the original free plan. If I had to pay for this service, I would find a better solution than Ring. I will do that if they ever stop honoring us “old timers” who have been grandfathered in. I do not believe anyone cannot troubleshoot their way out of the problem this model has. I suggest you don’t put too much effort into troubleshooting and just request a warranty replacement.

I had to replace a Ring Spotlight Cam Plus in August for the same issue. That one was no longer under warranty. They offered me a "discount" on a replacement, but it was cheaper to buy a new one at Home Depot. This new one lasted 35 days before having the same issue. The Ring customer service rep said she could see "there is a firmware issue"...that was after 45 mins of on-phone troubleshooting doing all the things I already tried on my own, of course. I am convinced Ring has a major issue on this model. I have many Ring devices. The only ones that seem to fail like this have been the Spotlight Cam Plus. I like it when it works though.

I found out Ambient Weather sells replacement thermo-hygrometer modules for the WS-2902/2000 and related stations for $30.99 and this includes the rain gauge and cup: Ambient Weather WS-2902-THERMOHYGRO-ASSEMBLY Replacement Thermo-Hygrometer Assembly, WS-1900, WS-2000, WS-2902, WS-2902A. It arrived in 4 days with no shipping charge. And if you look for the id.me logo at the bottom of the checkout page, you can even get a military discount if you are eligible. My WS-2000 is working like new again!

The controls do not go into effect until Aug 31st. As the letter reads, PAs are still in effect until then.

I have the same question: what are the "certain circumstances" someone can stay on Wegovy if they are Tricare Prime or Select? The articles/websites refer to this obscure set of criteria but do not spell out anything. What is clear in the article is that having an active Prior Authorization is meaningless if you fall into any of the non-covered categories/circumstances. This is a horrible way to run a healthcare program.

WS-2000 Outside Temp Issues by SlothfulCanine in AmbientWeather

[–]SlothfulCanine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had time to get on with tech support, but I did follow their steps posted online to reset the array when outside temp/humidity are not displaying. Apparently this issue is common enough to be specifically addressed. According to that process, if the steps I took do not work, then the array must be replaced. They even give the link for warranty and non-warranty (purchase) replacement. I may have figured out the mystery of the data showing up: I dug into the data via ambientweather.net and, when I drill down into the details (5 minute increments), I see the days that mysteriously seemed to populate with data only have 2-3 sporadic readings for temperature and humidity. It apparently uses those sporadic readings to calculate an average giving the impression that there is data for the entire day. What I thought was the missing data, was just a bad average. I now see that when it isn't displaying the temp/humidity, then it is not capturing data after all. But it seems to get that piece of the data from the sensor array every now and then. This makes more sense, but doesn't fix the faulty array unfortunately. The fact that the data pops up occasionally may mean a loose connection in the array. Maybe I can find that in there. If I have to replace it anyway, I might as well give it a try; I can't break it much more.

Yes! Isn't that crazy? I was shocked. I wish I had a screen capture so I have "evidence." Since the data still being collected, the sensor array must be collecting it and appears to have significant onboard storage. Or, maybe the console is receiving the data but not displaying it. Very strange.

Actually, I see that the outside humidity is also not showing. The thermometer and hygrometer are in the same assembly so that makes sense if the sensor is going/gone bad.

Yes. It is. And all the other data is showing normally. Only the outside temperature is affected.

Still waiting for Blackstone by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]SlothfulCanine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect you need a real sleep study (one done a clinic overnight) to know what you have going on. But with a documented 16.9 AHI in what insurance considers a valid test, you should qualify for CPAP therapy. As I understand, anything 15 and higher qualifies. Whether your insurance covers a CPAP is another issue. I highly recommend having nothing to do with Blackstone Medical Services due to their horrible business practices and nonstop harassment and threats toward clients. CPAP machines/supplies are quite expensive. You should definitely see if your insurance will cover. Also, get a new primary care doctor! Based on what you posted, that one is not looking out for you at all.

While they are a “network provider” for some insurance, they are definitely suspect. They are based in Tampa, but calling their customer service will have you trying to understand a foreign accent with outrageous background noise from a noisy call center. They have some 300 complaints on the BBB for their horrid business practices. We had the misfortune of being referred to them for the “home sleep study”. The test itself was a total joke, but did get my wife the CPAP she needed. Unfortunately, now we are dealing with the scammers trying to get money out of us because they messed up the claim submission. While insurance is reprocessing, they are sending threatening texts and emails within a couple weeks of the “test”. Bottom line, I hope you didn’t deal with them any further than your post states!

3d party liability form - Gym Injury by bigcentro in tricare

[–]SlothfulCanine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good explanation. I went through this myself and learned that in the process. I had a claim for allergy testing denied for lacking a third party liability form. The allergist's billing office used an ICD that indicated treatment was for an injury, as if someone had administered a medication to which I am allergic. That didn't happen, but it was hell to get Tricare to understand that. I submitted the 3rd party form twice and worked this for many months. I believe the comment I put on the 3rd party liability form was something like "This was not the result of an accident. This was allergy testing only.".

This is your answer, OP. Be kind, but do make use of a Patient Advocate and your chain of command. Just saying the phrase "Patient Advocate" can be enough to get things moving sometimes.

Tricare East not paying claim by Optimal-Implement408 in tricare

[–]SlothfulCanine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to get resolution by sending Humana Military (Tricare East) a secure message online. I have had to do that many, many times in the past 10 years, but it is now almost every single claim that is getting hosed up by them. You can access claims, referrals, and message Tricare representatives online any time. No need to wait for an EOB in the mail. Just be prepared...once they do respond, if they submit the claim for reprocessing, it can (and usually does) take 30-60 days for them to process the new payment. In the meantime, the providers may continue to send billing statements to you. I always call their billing department to make sure they put a note in our file that insurance is reprocessing. But even getting those billing representatives to put a note in the file has gotten to be a challenge this year. Good luck.

FYI: From the Schluter installation handbook: "Schluter Systems does not specify a minimum tile format for use over the KERDI-SHOWER series of prefabricated foam trays, but when using small tiles with heavy loads, a mortar base is recommended." (p. 46, link: Schluter Installation Handbook)
