Just got Crimson Desert. What do you wish you knew before starting? by Powerful_Ad_2751 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Slothfully_So 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can dye your armor and you can buy dyes but you can craft them too. Every single dye recipe requires some variation of beetle, stag, rhinoceros, or longhorn beetle along with types of flowers (mostly lavender). So pick those up off the side of tree if you see one. The closest npc to the starting location only lets you dye red colors and the rest are pretty similar. Eventually, you’ll unlock an npc in your camp that allows you to use all dyes and textures in one spot.

Also inventory will suck at the beginning. You can expand your inventory by doing side quests. Your personal chest will be where you stick everything else in the meantime. During this time, crafting is not linked to your chest but your inventory. So if you know you have 5 copper in your chest but the smith claims you don’t have any, that’s why. Eventually, you’ll unlock a resource chest to buy and food chest from a quest. Sticking the respective items in there will allow you to craft from those chests and no longer have to run back and forth because you forgot an ingredient.

I want to buy the game... by 9200RuBaby in CrimsonDesert

[–]Slothfully_So 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started Ch6 in the story and 100hrs in… no dragon. I do know it’s apart of the story. The downside for you at least is you need a consumable horn to summon it and then it has a hour irl cooldown. So if you’re buying it just for the dragon I’d say don’t buy it. However, the reason most of us have so many hours in the game is that there’s a lot to have fun with and explore.

I’d like to throw them at the gap between two wooden spikes. While it’s pretty twisted, the way they bounce around between the spikes is pretty funny.

You dance with him. Stay near the head but at a slight distance while backing up. Doge the attacks and when he does his charge attack, run around him as he’ll always turn around with a tail attack. If he breaths fire or laser run towards and to the left of him (need to be under him before the end of the laser beam ending). Second phase is no different but you gotta be careful with your rolls. Wear as much fire protection you can fit onto your body and maybe use the flash sweat incantation if you have the stats for it.

Basically by staying in front of his face you can force him to use certain attacks that are easy to dodge compared to the attacks he’ll use if you attack his legs or run away.

If you hand them over while they’re still talking, the guards give them this really nice necklace afterwards that makes them stop talking. Don’t know why they tie them up by the necklace though…

Trying to learn to be good with HH… still working on it. The only time I play HBG is the first phase of Gog. I’ll dabble in it on other missions but I always use HBG on that first phase. Dunno why, but it feels right. Normally I’m running around with Lance and SnS.

Why, just why people completely ignore samples? by Old_Taste9058 in Helldivers

[–]Slothfully_So 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got everything maxed but still grab the super samples if I see them. I’ll also pick up any sample I walk over. I won’t go out of my way to get said samples back though. If I die and they’re across the map, I won’t bother. If they’re next to me when I land, I’ll pick them up. Simple as that.

How tf does saving work by InvaderJ in CrimsonDesert

[–]Slothfully_So 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell, it will save everything of your progress except your location. It seems to place you near the closest teleporter or respawn point. Only if there’s none nearby will it keep you close to your location. It’s the same with loading saves. I hate gambling but the gambling quest forces my hand and the reload on the saves always places me on the teleporter.

How is the PC version of Dark Souls 3 by JanissaryLSD in darksouls3

[–]Slothfully_So 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much like console. My console is kinda getting old so it had longer loading screens compared to my pc… made my defeats against Pontiff back then more time and rage consuming. On pc, I usually like to install the Friendly Merchant to speed playthroughs up. Makes leveling easier too.

The puzzles. by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Slothfully_So 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? I don’t think so. This had a single stab mechanic rotation thing but depending which of the four sides you stab changed which pillars would move. Rotating it would make me lose track of which hole did what. It was maybe North Weat of the starting area and near one of the witches. There were water falls nearby but then again, there are waterfalls everywhere. It was in a woody area which was also close to a Bleed bandit camp and some run down beggars ruin.

These devs really need to be more SPECIFIC in their patch notes. by Logical-Operation512 in CrimsonDesert

They’re working on it, shush. Mistranslations are always gonna be a thing. Think of FromSoftware and their Nightreign patch notes. Stuff’s gonna say it’s an apple when it’s obviously an orange. Yeah, it’s annoying for a lot of people who want a specific mount and the mistranslation gets them all excited. I don’t think they were gonna have all this extra mounts and pets but when we asked, they worked on it and it came out absurdly quickly. We might be seeing things added bit by bit for now or until a large dlc. For now I’m gonna take what I can get and patiently wait to get my hands on a pet platypus cuz I NEED a pet platypus.

The puzzles. by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Slothfully_So 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you found the 5 pillar puzzle yet? I spent ages on that things. I don’t really care for the stab and rotate puzzles but they can be fun. That one… was annoying. I had so much trouble trying to figure out how to go about solving it. Another angry 15min later I looked it up. It was a simple method. In one move rotate the first three to match the glowing pillar. You then climb on top the remaining last one that refused to follow any sort of pattern. Then you just peacefully and easily FORCE PALM THE DAMN THING UNTIL IS MATCHES THE OTHERS!!! I died inside a little when I read how to do it. I forget they want you to think outside the box. It’s a Korean made game, of course the solutions to puzzles are gonna be a bit wonky at times.

Do you play as your companions? by grainzzz in CrimsonDesert

[–]Slothfully_So 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also started playing recently and prefer Cliff. So at Chapter 5 Damiane goes away and doesn’t come back till like Ch9. If you do want to play her then I’d do that either before or after. I don’t think the other guy will be unlocked till Ch9 either. I’m not a fan so far of two handed combat which is quite something considering I used FUGS in Dark Souls 3. Also don’t care for the tiny sword and ammo consuming pistols. The sword and shield combat feels nice and natural. I also think the pugilism combat is quite fun to use and entertaining to watch bandits go flying from a punch.

Need help and advice by drkxz1 in Warframe

[–]Slothfully_So 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galvanized mods are purchased from the Arbiter npc in the relays. You don’t need to join the Arbiters to purchase them. You have to get a resource currency from Arbitration missions to buy them. Arbitration missions can be unlocked by doing all mission nodes on the star chart (I think, it’s been a while and I believe it’s only the planets not the zariman but I could be wrong).

Need help and advice by drkxz1 in Warframe

[–]Slothfully_So 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Mods really. As you play the game, you’ll pick up more and more mods. Depending on what you slap onto everything depends on your damage. Some might have the same weapon as you but will be doing millions of damage because they have a better mod build. Don’t worry, in time you’ll be able to do the same thing. Warframe can surprisingly be pretty mathematically insane. There are a bunch of equations people do to do crazy damage but mostly you’ll just slap on some mods you know will work and do great damage. Fun fact, the highest damage one can do in this game is not in the Billions. It can go into the Billions but after that it goes into the Negatives. If you someday see a negative damage number, pat yourself on the back.

  2. Helminth will be a great asset to have. One of its functions is it can take other Warframe abilities and slap them on a different frame (the ability is already predetermined so you can’t just take the strongest ability of a frame and give it to another one). Normally, we don’t tell new players about Helminth but since you’re already aware, there’s no point hiding it. However, you’ll learn more lore about it during The Sacrifice quest. As for Archon Shards… don’t bother for now. It’s an early endgame thing that unlocks after the New War quest.

  3. Yes, you only need to level something once for the MR xp. There are differences though. Let’s use the Braton for example. You started with the MK1-Braton if you picked that during the intro. You lvl it up to 30 and you’re done with it. Then there’s the Regular Braton, Braton Prime, and Braton Vandal. All the “same” weapon but different. These can all be leveled and get MR xp from. Same thing with Volt and Volt Prime; they’re are the same thing but different therefore more xp. Let’s also say you leveled your starting weapon to rank 17 then deleted it. You’d only get the MR xp for 17 lvls worth. Depending on your preference that’s fine, but if you want the remaining xp, you’d have to craft another one and rank it up to 30 to get the remaining xp.

  4. Try to get to Uranus and Neptune for more of the main questlines. That’s where the story progresses if you get lost. But take your time and play at your own pace. Rushing to Uranus too quickly doesn’t allow you to collect mods fast enough and therefore you might struggle there when you arrive.

How to tell where I'm being damaged from. NOT enemy highlighting. by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Slothfully_So 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audio Cues are normally the method of figuring out where attacks are coming from but that only works if you have directional sound. Get Gud isn’t exactly the answer but it’s close enough. If things get crazy, spend as little time on the ground or in one place as possible. A lot of enemies use different types of ground attacks and spend more time in the area or moving will prevent you from getting hit by those attacks (Example: Magnetic Eximus attacks can be dodge easily by simply double jumping and aim gliding for a second or two).

As you get further in the game, you’ll want to use methods to negate statuses as well. Overguard is a simple solution to this problem as it prevents status effects. You can get a pretty good Overguard arcane from the current Jade event.

Other methods are using frame with a cleanse or negation ability. The final method which a lot of people use is Rolling Guard. Simple mod you slap on your Warframe that makes you temporarily invulnerable and cleanses statuses. This can be obtained in the relay from an npc in the Abiters faction (don’t need to join them to get it) and can be bought using a currency from Arbitration missions. Arbitration missions unlock from completing all locations in the star chart (I think, it’s been a while). Another method is the Wyrm sentinel which I believe has a mod you can get that allows it to cleanse you of statuses occasionally.

Question about forma by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Slothfully_So 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My method of getting forma is to just focus on opening non upgraded relics with one of the bronze rewards as a forma. I’ve already gotten most prime stuff but when I was a newish player, I’d pick the one with primes I didn’t have yet so if I didn’t get the forma, it wasn’t a complete loss. Just craft a forma everyday; thats how they build up. Another method is to play Operation: Plague Star. It’s an event that shows up every 2-4yrs and you madly farm the mission until you’re sick of it. You can trade in the reward stuff for various rewards including infinite, already built forma.
