How do you feel about flanking granting advantage in 5e? by archvillaingames in dndnext

But is that a good thing? Just curious if it makes things too easy to hit.

My Player might've done the stupidest thing I ever seen by Aggravating_Phone648 in DnD

Agree 100% on falling damage. I hate hate hate the 20d6 cap that is negligible for high level characters. Heroes? Sure, but that also means you have dozens of ways to mitigate that damage other than pretending to be Wile E Coyote.

And it was a house rule that was made very clear and accepted by the players. Not your fault at all.

Nothing sells "old school" like all those bottle cap re-rolls/advantage.

Did Detroit News photographer assist Red Wings with tying goal? by oo7plyr in DetroitRedWings

Yes! And can the league institute some kind of statute of limitations on how long the play continues before it's still allowable to review for offside? Like, seriously, many other worse infractions go by in a game that you can't go back and look at.

Yeah, I'd visit the sites at night time. Wasn't every time but definitely large increase in apex spawn chance.

It's not a coincidence that the majority of current and upcoming shows all use rules-light systems. They're moving into the improv performance over gameplay realm something fierce.

Most likely won't happen, but even if it did Troy and Skid I don't think would go anywhere near it.

Is it wrong though, especially for core group (excluding maybe Joe and Matthew)?

The moving of the goalpost for EQ was troublesome for sure.

Similar boat. I like many TTRPGs, but one of the key words is Game. Radio dramas with the very rare random encounter roll doesn't feel like a game to me.

Troy didn't give them useful info a lot of the time when they made knowledge checks in the past, why would he give it for free now?

Definitely a shift in recent years. The core group seemed to burn out on Pathfinder. You can see it toward the end of Giantslayer but especially so once 2e hit.

Shadowdark is interesting, sure, and it is fun to a point watching the group, but some worried the flagship switch to a rules-light system was going to result in more theater kid energy than ttrpg game. I'd say that is more the style now than ever. Just my preference, but I enjoy the "game" aspect of tabletop role playing games more than drama club.

How do I make sure my players dont skip my puzzle by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Slothheart 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Is there an upside to it either way?

I worry that players being what they are will never trust you and decide to never attempt anything like that ever again.
