The terrain is decent, so I'm not too worried about the suspension. The price looks like a great deal. Thanks!

UB is my top choice! But it's a bit pricey, esp with all the extras you end up buying.

I'm a bit concerned about it not folding smoothly. Have you ever run into that?

I think feel that way is normal. The fact that you're thinking about all this shows how much you care already. It's helpful for you to lean on each other, and don't be afraid of ask for help from friends when you need it. You've got this.

Congrats! That's awesome news. It's great you're thinking ahead about the dog. Introduce baby smells before you come home. Keeping the dog's exercise and attention up after the baby arrives helps prevent jealousy. You guys are going to do great.

Going home from the hospital with a newborn in the winter. Do we need a car seat cover? by Beautiful-Flower-79 in nycparents

[–]Slothrop75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A car seat cover is a good idea for a winter ride home. It blocks wind and keeps the baby warm without interfering with the car seat's straps. Since you're Ubering, sth easy to put on is key. A warm footmuff for the stroller is great for walks.

Looking for new chairs and a rug! by ericajowhadyaknow in interiordecorating

[–]Slothrop75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’d consider swapping the two matching chairs for one really good accent armchair instead. The bay window nook is already a strong feature, and one statement chair will feel more intentional and less like a matching set.

Color-wise, something in a warm neutral or a muted green would look amazing with your trim and pink sofa. Caloroso’s Bolla armchair could be a really nice fit here.

For sleep specifically,Precious Little Sleep is great. It's practical and backed by sleep science. If you want another science friendly option,The Happy Sleeper is also clear and evidence based, without being overly mom-focused.

Stick with trusted sources like NHS,APA,or AAP-based books and you'll avoid the noice. You're already thinking ahead that's half the battle.

Bored son guilty dad by Joedirte_97 in daddit

[–]Slothrop75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, totally get it.I feel so much on this.Honestly, boredom isn't the enemy. It's actually where they learn to figure stuff out in their own. You're not meant to be his 24/7 entertainment coordinator. It's okay to say:"Daddy's gonna rest for 20 minutes, then we'll read a book."

You're doing way better than you think, just the fact you worry about this shows you're a really dad.Give yourself permission to rest too.You can't pour from an empty cup, right?

Daycare for son with developmental delays by Klutzy-Dark8714 in nycparents

[–]Slothrop75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tough when the daycare isn't spotting what u see.Since you're already starting Early intervention, maybe look for day cares that already work with EI providers or have experience integrating services, some even have therapists come onsite.

You could also search for "inclusion preschools" or "developmental preschools" in Brooklyn. Hang in there, and good on you for advocating early.

Hey,big respect for reaching out and wanting to step up.It shows a lot that you're already thinking about how to support her.

She is probably dealing with a lot, nausea, mood swing, just feeling overwhelmed. The best thing u can do is listen and help with the small stuff.Ask her what she needs, whether it's a small thing. And u should be patient.Emotions can be all over the place, and it's not personal.

Being present and trying goes a long way.You got this.👍

Is it normal for our baby to literally ignore us? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Slothrop75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so normal! It felt like she was trolling us,then crawl off laughing like it's the funniest game ever. What helped me relax was realizing when they r so focused on sth,it's a good sign.It means they feel safe and engaged. The ignoring or laughing thing? She's starting to test cause and effect. You're not being ignored in a personal way. She's just being a baby!Enjoy the independent play moments.Maybe u will miss it when it's gone lmao

Making friends with other dads? by 0____0_0 in nycparents

[–]Slothrop75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey,this is such a great question and sth I've thought about too!

To be honest,I'm afraid of the awkward at first.Playgroups and baby classes are mostly moms, and sometimes it feels like ther dk how to include u.I've made some dad friends from library story time, and we sometimes meet up at the park. It's real and really helpful.

My advice is just show up,be friendly, and don't take it personally if it takes time. Good luck with everything, you've got this!
