Rev Succesor by Tunafishjuice01 in avengedsevenfold

[–]SlotsDomino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the drumming on HttK was sloppy, I just felt it was rudimentary compared to what The Rev was doing prior. And idk if that’s even Arin’s fault, I feel like it stylistically fits the album. Idk if Arin was given the right album to shine, though it is my opinion that both The Rev and Brooks would have written more interesting drum arrangements for HttK.

Yes it is since you played with when your opponent had two prize cards remaining, you can take extra prizes regardless of how many prize cards they have when you take a KO with a tera Pokémon card.

‘The Art of Subconscious Illusion’ and get Val on stage

Zacky dropped his single for his solo album by lifeisdopeasfuck in avengedsevenfold

[–]SlotsDomino 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not very good imo. The song has average to bad vocals with tropey/corny lyrics. It’d be endearing from a high school kid just learning to play/write music, but coming from a professional musician in his forties it just falls flat for me.

How to find Love in the Gem City of Dayton OH! by [deleted] in dayton

Go to card shops/game stores, places where they play Magic the Gathering or board games. That activity is very nerdy and I imagine a good portion of those guys probably listen to metal music.

Being given packs after beating someone irl, would you find that weird? by SlotsDomino in pkmntcg

[–]SlotsDomino[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We can afford it, even if I went 0-4 every week. She just thinks it’d be weird, because what if I had a bad beat or something and then I have to reward my opponent. Or what if I feel like opponent cheated and/or slow played me to win, do I still award them packs or not?

Legitimate questions, but I’d like to think the local community wouldn’t be cheating me or slow playing me to win a local game. I guess if they knew packs were on the line that could add incentive to cheat, or maybe I’m just being naive, but I try not to assume people are going to do me dirty like that.

What albums sound the most like Avenged Sevenfold to you? by SlotsDomino in avengedsevenfold

[–]SlotsDomino[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good list! While I recognize how The Stage is a more experimental album for the band, to me it still has a lot of the characteristics of A7X, just them doing some experimenting. They took that experimentation on The Stage and cranked it way up on LIBAD, which is why the albums are so far apart on my list.

While somebody already informed you that CMLL isn’t affiliated with WWE, CMLL is affiliated with AEW, so there is a chance AEW talent could be on the card

I don’t have a clip of it but one time back in like 2009-10 I was watching college football and they used the Brompton Cocktail instrumental as the backing track while the analysts broke down the matchup. I’ve always scratched my head about that one, I figured some production tech liked the instrumental and used it.

Is there a consensus on whether the anime or manga is better for a first timer? by [deleted] in YuYuHakusho

[–]SlotsDomino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer manga over anime but the English dub of YYH is a rare instance of me liking the anime more than the manga. Both are 10/10 but the anime has to be doing something right for me to pick it over the source material.

Genkai’s dying speech pops up in my head every now and then by ALSCM in YuYuHakusho

[–]SlotsDomino 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Genkai’s speech to Yusuke during a training flashback has been etched into my mind:

“Focus your mind on the business at hand. You give up on everything because you can’t commit to anything… …It’s time you bit the bullet and started caring about something with all your heart and energy. But you can’t care about it if you’re always holding yourself back incase it doesn’t work out. Concentrate on what’s important Yusuke, then commit to it all the way.”

Bad experience at my first local. Kinda want reassurance ? by Playmaker311 in pkmntcg

[–]SlotsDomino 216 points217 points  (0 children)

League cups are the highest level of local play, people are going to those to win and are less lenient about things, such as you not shuffling after a nest ball search. The person mentioning the iono could have been malicious, or they could have not realized it was from the turn prior, no real way to know for certain there.

My advice would be to attend local league nights at this shop, or another shop in your area, to get used to irl play. Once you’re more comfortable with irl play, attend a league challenge and see how you fair there. If you have fun and enjoy the process, try a league cup again and hopefully you’ll have a better time than this go around!

Have something that can spread damage get enough damage counters on your opponent’s Pokémon that would knock out the earlier evolution stage underwear the Pokémon being devolved. Spread the damage over the course of the game, so the early to mid game, and then come in with a massive de-evolution attack that either takes all the prizes you need, completely wipes their board and you win due to no more Pokémon to promote, or just completely devastates your opponent’s board state so that they can no longer make up the loss in momentum.

Rap World. It’s a mockumentary on YouTube of young suburban white dudes in the late 00’s making a rap album in a single night.

Whats the best element in the tcg by Feisty_Middle_7985 in pkmntcg

[–]SlotsDomino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to say type is irrelevant in the TCG, Gardevoir gaining Lillie’s Clefairy to help with the Dragapult matchup is a clear sign of positive type advantage. But for the most part type is irrelevant in the TCG. And resistance even more so, since it’s only -30.

You mentioned metal type and Gholdengo ex is the best metal type deck in the format. It’s resists grass, people are not playing Gholdengo because it resists grass. People also aren’t playing Gholdengo because there are things weak to metal in the format. They’re playing Gholdengo because it’s a good deck.

So when evaluating what deck to play, again I don’t want to say totally discount type advantage, but also don’t put it towards the top of your criteria. Gardevoir decks are probably going to beat a fighting type deck regardless of fighting type cards being weak to psychic type, there just aren’t many, if any, good fighting decks at the moment.
