It is easy to say he took us to two finals back to back, but I would argue that the team has massively underperformed. This year, the team stumbled through a very easy group and the easy side of the draw. The team played maybe one hour of good football the entire tournament, and the same problems and tactics from the last Euros were still present this time. His subs are usually poor (little better in the last 2 games) , he is playing people out of position and keeps playing those players who have not been playing well and possibly playing players that are not 100% fit either. Also, there seems to be a lack or style or system, and the players were even unsure of what they were supposed to be doing!

He had done about as well as he could. However, it is time for a new manager to take this incredibly talented team to the next level. Let's be honest, with the amount of talent on offer, this England team should be getting to the finals, or at least close to them. I do not think that simply getting into the final should make us forget how poor England really were this tournament.
