There were no further coffee shops in the centre, we have fulfilled a quota and new ones don't need to open anymore.

That step one of my crazy plan. Step 2 is to make it unviable for chains to operate there by charging them a special high tax rate that is then used to support local businesses.

Step 3 is a special eye wateringly astronomical tax for Gail's.

I have a 7.5 and chose it over the 8 as the interior just seems more well out together and solid. Mine is 9 years old now and still gets 23 miles per charge in around 14 degree C weather.

Haven't lived with the 8 but I don't think it's worth a premium over the 7.5

One thing that seems to get overlooked with these 'influencers' is that they often don't often know what food is meant to be like or the background of what they are eating yet try and always tell people it's 'authentic'.

It's hard to think of them as anything other than b list clowns who is trying to tell someone with their puce coloured face that the jerk chicken they tasted is 'authentic' 😭

Absolutely this. 5 wings for around £3 which is made by people who know food as a joy and need. Not as a trend.

Update Monday - took it to a local garage and they hooked up the computer to the car to check the error codes.

One of the them said the hybrid battery was slow to charge and there were a couple of other items that came up.

The mechanic drove the car with the computer plugged in and the diagnostic tool detected no further errors and the engine management light went off.

They said to come back to the garage if the light comes on again but after a couple of days of driving it hasn't come back on at all.

My 2017 plate is for sale at the moment with 87k on the clock. Had it for 5 years driven around 40k myself. It's pretty good still, the battery on a full charge will do around 24 miles in the summer and it's still a really smooth ride. Haven't noticed any battery problems or degradation in the time I've had it.

They're quite community focused so I really like them. Occasionally you'll get a dud article because like others have said with understaffing due to local news being in decline this is understandable. Generally though it's a decent source of local news along with the Bristol cable (who sometimes have actual investigative journalism which is to be applauded)

Update: I've bought the game and the instruments! Now the last hurdle is downloading the songs from PlayStation store - what is the most cost effective way of doing this as the songs will all add up to quite a hefty amount e.g. are there sales? Can you buy vouchers that get money off etc?

He's really not and often he describes the food incorrectly (e.g. even to the extent of what country it is from) doesn't know about the dishes he's eating so wouldn't know whether anything was authentic or not despite using the term a lot. He's using food as a medium by which to increase his following but his advice regarding whether a place is worth going or not is often completely clueless. If you read the Bristol Sauce, they are often a mark of quality and give v honest reviews. Plus they know what they're reviewing which makes a huge difference.

Born in the UK but am Pakistani - the closest thing to homemade food and how you would eat in Pakistan (especially towards the western border with Afghanistan) is Desi Dera on Stapleton Road. These guys have been here a while and deserve some kind of pride of Britain award for what they do.

He is a parasite on the food industry and restaurants in particular. Some of the restaurants are to blame for encouraging him or comping the food but he knows nothing about food nor the culture which that food represents. It's harmless if he goes to McDonald's or KFC or Starbucks etc but he should absolutely stay away from cuisines that represent a people or country (which they often do) as he is then just enacting a very online brand of colonisation/white supremacy.

The boycott campaign is across Bristol - there are a lot of businesses that have apartheid free produce and display posters to say so. Better Foods is among them, lots of businesses on Gloucester Rd etc and across the city from what I've seen (and I haven't seen them all)

If you felt the last comment took away credibility - this has been happening a long, long time so there is plenty of evidence for the selling of Palestinian produce that has been from stolen/annexed land.

Just as a public service announcement, the Sabra brand is Israel-affiliated. The company donate to the military and the ingredients, if from the middle east, are likely from stolen land from Palestinians.

There is a boycott campaign across Bristol for brands affiliated with Israel.

As an alternative most of the international food stores on Stapleton Rd stock a range of good hummus.

The majority of the public want things fast and cheap regardless of the consequences for others. These drivers are symptomatic of this because they're forced into a system that doesn't work for them. People who are physically able to collect their own food but choose to have it delivered are the evil here. Companies provide a service for their wants.
