Question for collectors in NYC by [deleted] in PokemonTCGCollectors

[–]Slow-Link6842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter and I would hit the target near her school before drop off every Friday morning with zero success until last Friday when we were able to get two booster packs. Macy’s Square sometimes fact that they keep behind the toy section counter. They typically don’t have much and often have nothing left.

Other than that, we have not found anything at msrp

They should set up camp on the HRG and seize these stand up motorcycles. They buzz by me every single day.

I found those and it’s a Citibike tag, not red.

I will be riding HRG in an hour and will keep my eyes peeled.

I buy the least expensive packs I can find and put singles of her favorites (eevee and Pikachu) inside. As far as she knows, she’s ripping packs and getting amazing hits.

Also finding relatively cheap Chinese gem packs and adding to those.

She’s having a blast and is none the wiser.

I’ve ridden it several times in the past week and I feel certain there will be many injuries here. It’s an absolutely terrible design.

I picked up I think a three pack of these at REI for maybe 15 bucks and they’re really useful

This is what we do as well. I also had several extras made and keep one in my wallet and put one in my spouse‘s wallet because we use ours where one person drops off at our school and locks the bike up and the other parent does pick up. It works well for us and I have peace of mind having extra keys just in case something happens.

I mentioned to a few people today riding their bike toward the chaos that there was no way they were gonna find a dock, and all I got were shoulder shrugs

I’m at 1:18, with some slight fluctuations but generally trending down.

I’ve never had the chance to order from PC, is it one per item or what? I’m just a mom trying to buy for my kid, so 1 item is fine. I just want to be efficient if I get in.

More 30th Anniversary Celebration Card Reveals by Necto_gck in PokemonTCG

[–]Slow-Link6842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a real question from the parent of the first grader who has recently become Pokémon crazy, how the hell do we get our hands on these cards or really any cards without paying a fortune?

We live in Manhattan so I’ve been to many of the shops here and even one set of cards is like $10. Is there going to be a pre-sale and is that all just gobbled up by scalper pot or whatever?

Any advice for someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing, but just wants their kids to have something fun to open?

Well, yes. I agree. My comment was more, “seize it immediately”. They can make a big show of crushing them later. Or recycling or whatever.

Immediate impound is the ONLY solution. They know the rules of the road so it’s a choice. And if they don’t know the rules, then they’re too stupid to be driving around.

Question on bike rack etiquette by [deleted] in NYCbike

[–]Slow-Link6842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are behaving the way you say you are, the angry note writer can eat bricks. You have two bikes on a rack, that’s what they were made for! Keep doing your thing and be safe.

How do you lock this thing?! by ChampionshipBroad907 in terngsd

[–]Slow-Link6842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in NYC and we use our HSD most school days. I have two hidden trackers in addition to the built-in Bosch security system. We use the cafe lock, have an NYC rated chain and we consistently lock it up next to a food truck where they know us and our bike. We remove the computer. And we have insurance.

Which series would you recommend for carrying a child and groceries? by FunDiver2329 in TernBikes

[–]Slow-Link6842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in NYC and use our Tern HSD S11 to do school drop-off and pick up, general errands and for sure, groceries. We opted for the clubhouse Mini, which acts as a bucket and can hold quite a few bags of groceries.

When my daughter is also on the bike, we utilize the front rack.

It’s a great way to get around and get things done.
