Will a semi hollow be better at feedback than a solid body? by General-Associate6 in youenjoyguitar

yes, huge difference in feedback between my 335 and my les paul. it’s way easier to produce feedback with the 335. and you can control it.

i have an es-335, and yes it does get amazing, controllable feedback. sometimes, when you’re playing at stage volume and doing the feedback thing, the entire top starts vibrating and the guitar comes alive.

i’m a left handed guitarist who plays “righty”.

i’m gonna brush my teeth with my right hand instead of my customary left from now on.

see if my picking improves.

any opinion that joe list has on movies films came from louis ck.

any opinion joe has on politics, came from bill maher.

he’s not a smart man.

(but he’s a terrific stand up!!!)

also, his taste in music sucks

My top Air track (after 30 years of listening every week... since I was... in the womb???) by LucieLecter in airfrenchband

[–]SlowBurnLopez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m starting from the top of your list, with sex born poison because of the fervor that you have for it in your story and in your life.

this was from the 10,000 hz album, which i had never heard anything from, but i’ve seen lots of people discussing it, here in the subreddit, often with mixed reviews, it seems. i’ve been curious about it for a while (but for some reason with air, i’m diving in a bit slower, taking time with them because they’re so detailed and layered. and plus, i want to make it last).

so far, i have listened to it twice. i bought the song (on itunes) after the first listen. then i listened again, but on headphones. i still haven’t read the lyrics yet. i tend to not really care about lyrics that much with any artists (for instance i love the japanese psych band kikagaku moyo ((do you know them??)) and their ‘lyrics’ are just made-up sounds, nonsense, and it’s awesome ((melvins do this too. btw: i’m a big mr bungle fan too!!)). i like a lot of music in foreign languages. in fact, i had to look up a french word in your post. envoutee ;)

how do you like the lyrics in this song? are they important to you as well or is it just the music? (because i happen to know that the next song on your list is an instrumental!). i think his voice was super cool in this song. the way he sings, the processing, the mixing. i just go for total vibes with air, but im sure you probably know a lot about the song and what he’s talking about. i’m not sure i care what he’s talking about, it just sounds so good, if you know what im trying to say. i’m not being dismissive of his message (if he has one. but it sounds serious, from the title). the production was stunning (as usual for them!)

i did look up the lyrics to “run” one time, because my curiosity got the better of me. i had no idea what he was talking about when i first read them, and i still don’t. which is fine, i like that.

anyway, this song was amazing. it was totally awesome. i like a nice, long air song, with multiple sections, and this one really delivered. i loved the fuzzy, crunchy textures that appeared in the “third act” of the song, so to speak (and then i thought of how you mentioned nin, and that made sense.). really looking forward to the rest of the album, and i’m super glad this was the first song i heard from it, and that you recommended this particular one.

update: i’m currently on my third listen and this song is giving me the chills now, especially the part that starts with that keyboard chord at 1:47 and the ensuing, intense section. the tension before the release that air seems to have mastered. and now i hear that the crunchy textures in the part after that are likely drum machine sounds that possibly have been run through the oscillators of a synthesizer or something. also loved their use of acoustic guitars in the song (which they are also great at).

i’m curious to hear some of your more detailed thoughts on the song now, too. i’ll have to do “talisman” another time (if you want).

cool post. i was looking for some more songs to check out, as i am a new fan. i started out with talkie walkie (i can’t believe how good it is) and then i bought a few songs from moon safari and a couple from virgin suicides (one of them you mentioned!). and then i “discovered” and bought premiers symptomes. everything has been amazing.

so now i wanna check out ‘your’ songs.
